A little help, please (streaming)

I have to do this tonight! I vowed no more procrastinating... the credit card is on the desk! I want to watch tomorrow’s game!

I come from a generation where getting sports reception involved climbing the roof and installing an “aerial” with a motorized gizmo that could rotate it for the best reception ($50, total). If you could get off the roof without breaking any bones, it was a good deal. -)

But, I’m at a loss with these streaming services. The simplest for me seems to be Hulu that has a plan where you can see Fox, Espn and ABC for $90/mo, or- Slate has a combo orange/blue plan offering the same service for $60./mo.

Does anyone have experience using these services? If so, iyo, which service is better? And am I right that I will get the girls games with either of these services?

It would be better to pay Slate just $60/mo- four month season- that’s pizza money. Well, a couple, I guess.

In perspective, the guy risking his life with the aerial, he scored big time because he could get an 18 inch pie made with real Italian soul by immigrants like “Pepe” himself for $3-4. That was pizza! You never had to say to yourself after----I just paid $25.00 for this piece of cardboard).

If you want something straight forward, Hulu with live TV is your best choice. As it's the last service that actually has SNY network still, if you are in the local area. And that's who carries the non national women's game. Keep in mind that that's only good for this year, as it's the last year that SNY has the contract. Which then changes options again starting next year.

If you live outside of the local broadcast area, then you have to start jumping through hoops, with the Fox app. But then any streaming platform that has Fox would work.

Certainly not very straightforward anymore.

i use YoutubeTV and it works well. The SNY games are accessed not via youtube, but via teh FoxSports app--which you get access to if you have youtube tv.

I have issues with the new world too.

I will say that we have You Tube TV as a back-up to our DirecTV and its a lot cheaper. We have it because they have NFL Sunday Ticket, which is important to us both as Football Fans (general) and NY Giants fans (lived in NJ over 50 years). But we can't break our DirecTV habit.

But Youtube TV is (relatively) easy to use and carries almost any station you could want to watch.

First off, we have a Vizio smart tv through which we can access Fox Sports (FS1) via their app.

Second, we have a non-smart tv that runs on a Roku stick. Via Roku we have downloaded the SNY app even though we don’t have a subscription with them.

Third, we have a Hulu Live TV subscription.

I don’t know how or why this works but our daughter found that from the SNY website we could access their programs if we give them our Hulu log-in credentials. This works on the tv with the Roku stick.

The Vizio doesn’t support the SNY app so on that unit we watch the games on FS1 when Fox is carrying the SNY feed.

Generally, I like Hulu. When we started with the service years ago, it was a very good and inexpensive alternative to DirecTV. The yearly price increases are nettlesome but it provides a tremendous amount of content both in sports and non-sports programming.

I have Youtube tv, and am new to it. Could I please prevail on you, or anyone, to be more specific about how to access FoxSports (SNY) through Youtube tv? I'm old, and fairly clueless!

I also use youtube since I live in Florida and the Fox Sports app also works for me. What amazes me is that you can see East Bum state versus west bum state but the UConn women basketball does not seem like the Capital of the basketball world when trying to get them on TV if you live out of the area.

A first time user would be prompted what internet or streaming service you use and you would need to confirm that you use one that grants access to fox sports--which I think is all of them, but definitely Youtubetv.

I have found out this season that when I open the Fox Sports App, I am not logged in and have to log back in using my tv provider info. This may be unique to me though.

This is correct. I have youtube tv in the nyc area and also cannot access fox sports for uconn games.
