Louisville's mayor Greg Fischer bet 10 bottles of KY Bourbon vs. 10 bottles of good CA wine in a wager with Berkeley mayor Tom Bates before the semifinal game between the Cardinals and the Bears. After collecting his winnings, Fischer made no such offer with any CT public official to put up the same spirits against maybe some packs of New England Imperial Stout Trooper brews.

No dummy there. Not going to give away good bourbon with the only possible winnings being some more national publicity.

I think our governor won himself some hams....
Yeah, but did you notice that the KY governor bet the bourbon with the Michigan governor for the finals, and consigned the hams part of his bet for CT's governor. KY pols are pretty savvy, and the hams were probably leftovers from the KY Wildcats' overtime feasting on the Arkansas Razorbacks.
