That picture sums up the 99 championship game and the 2004 semi-final. Two championship trophies ripped away from Duke. The other two were ripped away from Kentucky and Calipari. It makes those 4 championships extra special.

That game was very frustrating to watch after losing to them in 89/90. I was there with Rod in spirit. It felt like we would never break through at the time.

Rod was the only player in my memory to be suspended from an NCAA tournament game a full year after that infraction took place.
I think it was our upset of Shak’s LSU team that he had to sit out.

The Laettner incident occurred after the LSU game(and the Xavier game). Sellers sat out our first tourney in ‘92. We routed Nebraska anyway and didn’t miss him.
