Good first win based on a great first half - holding any team to 4 points in a quarter is impressive.

Stanford typically plays really sound defense and that was on display - the reason the first half was so lopsided was 1) Crystal was on fire from three, and 2) Uconn created a ton of live ball turnovers and scored in transition. In the second half they clean that up significantly and the scoring became a lot harder.

Second half was not great but Geno was working on things and not pushing the pace while playing a lot of the bench. This is a completely new team, not a continuation of last year's FF team. (Anyone remember the last early season game against Stanford? This was significantly better and Stanford was in the same situation that last time playing with a very young team.)
