I can't say anything that has not already been said. We all saw the game, and we all saw the same thing. I think the thing we were most disappointed in was that we did not see the UConn women's team that we are use to seeing. I'm going to reserve judgement until I see two more games. Most importantly, they won, and won handily. Redemption for the 2014 loss has been received, and closure has been achieved. I like everyone else don't know what to think, so I'm not going to. I'm glad the season has begun, I'm glad they won, I'm going to attribute their play today to opening day jitters and nervousness. I assume I won't see this type of play the rest of the season. They have that first game under their belt now, things can return to normal. On a more positive note - I was very pleased to see Crystal come out today. She looked like the Crystal Dangerfield in her senior year of high school. While I don't expect her to break 20 every game, it was nice to see that the game has in fact slowed down for her (as I predicted it would), and she made the Cardinal pay for laying off of her on defense. Lou had 19 first half points. THAT was amazing. I have a lot of confidence in this team. They know they did not put forth their best effort today. No doubt that will strenuously be addressed by Geno in practice tomorrow. I'm sure we'll see a different team at home against the Cal-Bears this coming Friday. All of the ingredients will be in place for the Huskies to return to form. Home court, home cooking, and lots of passionate UConn fans in attendance ready to cheer themselves into a frenzy. This was an ugly win to be sure, but I'll take it!!
