A Crazy Idea

So it's the middle of July and my mind is wondering re: college sports.

I was reading the MBB forum and there's a thread about AAC out of conference scheduling. Some of our conference mates OOC schedules are...sad, to say the least.

It got me thinking; why not start our own bball only conference? Leave the ECUs of the world behind. If the NBE can do it so can we.

We'd take the "top tier" of the AAC with us (so they'd have to allow us to keep football in the AAC).

I'd say the schools included would be:

UConn
Cincinnati
WSU
Temple
Memphis
SMU
Houston
VCU
Dayton
St. Louis (maybe)

Anyone got another school idea for #10?

I know this is a crazy idea.

And how would the six AAC schools not included vote?

Yay or Nay on allowing some for football only while they form a new BB league?

Might it be...if you want to form a new league, pay the fees and go? All Sports...but get the media contracts lined up.

"Good idea" is a high standard. I do think its a crazy idea, as advertised. I am working with it on that basis.
