Kansas State Women’s Basketball: A Chance To Shock The World

"Kansas State University is expecting a big crowd for the 1p.m. game on Sunday in Bramlage Coliseum. This would be the largest NCAA Division I WBB crowd to date in the 2016-17 season and the largest for a women’s game in Bramlage since Feb. 4, 2012.

This would rank tied for the 9th largest crowd for K-State WBB games in Bramlage history. If the Kansas State women can earn an upset, it will make a lot more history."

Bramlage Coliseum seating capacity: 12,528

Will the K State fans storm the court if they win?

Does anyone recall a WBB game where fans storm the court? Teams have, but I don't recall seeing fans do it.

That crowd is going to make it a great atmosphere there. The K State fans will storm the court if they win but too bad it's not gonna happen ;)

If the building seats 12,528, and all the tickets are sold, they must have had standing room only tickets for there to be bigger crowds. If so, why not for this game?

I read the capacity use to be much larger but the renovated the building a few years ago and lowered the capacity to 12,528

Security better have a plan in place; K State was where Kansas men's coach Bill Self almost got mauled after his team lost there a couple years ago.

from the Kansas State website...

if the Kansas State Wildcat women do upset a team that hasn’t lost in over two years, they will shock the women’s basketball world.

Well, they will sure as hell shock ME!

When people question why a P5 team or an unranked team schedules a H & H with Uconn, and travels to get a butt whipping against last years team, this is one of the reasons! Triple the normal crowd for a home game with lots of buzz for a good program trying to make some noise. What is not to like? They won the bigger game already!

Kansas State’s third-year coach Jeff Mittie earned the 500th victory of his 25-year head-coaching career earlier this month. A win on Sunday would be one of biggest highlights in his career.

One of? I wonder what other highlights would compare to knocking off the four-time defending champion, undefeated, #1 ranked team on an 83 game winning streak.
