I thought they were a little flat early. After the first UConn goal they came alert. I’d also say PC’s first goal the PC guy falling down made a great play to keep the puck in the zone. And of course the 5 minute major was was an absolute killer. Yo cannot get that. I’d put that kid on the bench for a couple of games. 5 minute majors killed us last year.

On the crowd it was definitely a huge crowd. Not the most knowledgeable group nor the most enthusiastic I thought.
Th crowd was waiting to erupt but they treated the incredible crowd by playing like dog poop - in the first 30 minutes at least

The 5 minute really pisses me off and likely cost us the game, and the fact that Yoder acted like we had to bring out the stretcher only for him to score the second meaningless empty netter really really angers me.
This is the crap we dealt with all last year. Stay in your zone and avoid these floppers with full cages ans we are ok. Keep your sticks down because they treat everyone like mahomes now

I thought it was a legit call. Bad play by the UConn guy. He hit the PC guy with his stick high
It was a penalty but not a major. Tough loss. Tung played well. We have two good goalies but he is better in my opinion. If he played Friday we probably win 3-1 in.

The guys sitting in the row behind us came to the game specifically because they saw a social media post about it being $2 beer night. It turns out, that was for the women's game at Toscano. I thought that was kinda funny. They did stay for the game (and drank the $14 beers) but were not really paying attention to the action.

Keep in mind it's been a long time (decades) since any hockey team, professional or collegiate drew more than 4-5k regularly in Connecticut and seeing an 11k crowd that is populated by folks who maybe aren't as knowledgable or invested is no shock... you just hope you capture enough of the tire-kickers to get them back.

Oh I agree. And it was great to see that many. I think this shows the potential of CT ICE too. Get a few Ranked teams and it could become an EVENT That people don’t Want to miss.

Although we didn’t get the results we hoped for it was still a fun day overall. Great crowd, good college hockey game. Then I zipped over to CT Valley brewing to watch UConn Bball while listening to the Savage Bros Band.
Nice. I haven’t seen Savage Brothers in over 6 years. Good to see that they’re still playing. Good that the MBB won after disappointing outcome in the afternoon

I havent sat in the back row of an upper section since probably the 86 whaler season. Attendance was great.

Tung is our true number 1 when available. Ill leave it at that. Today he was available
Besides, he was left alone when our defense failed to defend the slot on at least 3 of their goals. Given our defensive break downs, I think he actually played pretty well.
