Oh, and Tammaro is hitting roughly .200 points better than Simmons At some point in a game that is as easy to measure statistically as baseball it doesn’t matter who won a job in practice and who the coaches think are better. Production has to play.
Oh, and you’re all welcome by the way. We scored in 3 innings. Tammaro got each of the three rallies started.

Key to tomorrow's success is we have to make their starter work and try to lay off some of those pitches way out of the zone. Creighton has shown that their bullpen is a mess. We have to get to it early. Need to keep Tammaro's bat in lineup. Really need Smith and Huber to get it going. Not sure if Smith is still not 100% and trying to play through it? Huber does not look comfortable up there swinging at anything offspeed. Gutsy win tonight.

BlueJays down their starting catcher Tyler Lozano for tomorrow after his ejection tonight:

I thought he was the pitcher in Abbott & Costello's Who's on First routine.

Tammaro, Tammaro
I love ya Tammaro
You're always, a day away

Coach Penders is very proud of Paul Tammaro, he has earned it, along with added playing time. Sounds like we are going to be seeing a lot more of Tammaro down the line for the rest of the season. Have to say he deserves it. Good words for the pitching tonight as well, starting with Stephen Quigley.

Coach Penders also says UConn hasn't had much luck the last few games with the opposition making fine plays in the field and such, but that starting changing late in last nights game.

I'm going to miss Simmons not being in the starting lineup, but believe me, I am hardly complaining about Tammaro getting to play full time considering what he has done when he has played this season. As Coach Penders says, Tammaro has earned it.

Next season going to be really interesting, assuming both Tammaro and Daniels are playing full time in the infield.

Chris Jones just mentioned that David Smith who is normally a switch hitter, batted righty against a RHP yesterday due to his recent oblique injury. Today he is hitting from the left side, so he must be feeling a bit better.

Top 1st, UConn offense goes down in order. No score.

Now we get to see what Ian Cooke can do today on the mound. Let's just hope for something decent.

Bottom 1st, Cooke with a scoreless inning with 2 strikeouts after giving up a 2 out walk. No score. 21 pitches for Cooke that inning.

Top 2nd, with 2 outs, UConn offense with back to back singles by Broadhurst and Morton to put runners on the corners. Morton steals 2B to put both runners in scoring position. Nothing comes from this 2 out rally attempt, no score.

Still, good to see UConn putting together a threat early in a game. The more threats the better. Certainly better than going down in order.
