9 Seed vs. Colorado

I'd be fine with playing Austin Peay, personally.
The matchup I want is with Cal. If we get there we'll end up in Texas.

Seton Hall should be better than a #6 seed, they were projected as an #8 seed before beating the #5 and #3 team in the country.

Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana are all in Des Moines. That's going to be a tough ticket.

I know it sounds crazy but we match up well with both Colorado and Kansas . Kansas plays Ellis at center major minutes, we can just trout out Miller to match up with him. Colorado really doesn't have much fire power on the perimeter.

like 2014, no?

The Buffalo ticket was tough because Syracuse was there AND because Dayton travels very well. But it wasn't impossible. Tex for the first round went for $110-$200 on the secondary market.

Need more info than that. Our regular season wasn't that impressive. I do like us period especially if we continue our good play. I hope we don't look ahead to Kansas.

I'm going to start googling Colorado now though.
22-11 (10-8)
RPI: 35
KP: 55

KenPom gives them a horrible adjusted offensive rating, 115th in the country. There defense is ranked a modest 26th. Their SOS was inflated due to the hype of the Pac12's ability in my opinion.

They went 2-7 on the road in conference play. Only 1 road win in December at Stanford. Wins over Oregon (x2), Arizona, and Cal. Lost to SMU by 4. They have about 12-14 wins over absolute garbage teams. Their SOS of 54 shows that they scheduled no one out of conference.

They kind of fell off when they got into conference play, their latest best win was at home vs. Arizona by 3. I watched that game, and there were a few questionable calls and had their best post player Josh Scott go off for 26 and 9.

I think we should be okay if we stay out of foul trouble down low. They don't really have a point guard, they play it by committee and shoot well from 3. Could create problems trying to break down our defense. They have a couple big boys down low that are 250+ , but only watching them like 2 times this season they are kinda raw. I have no idea its gonna be a good one.

I'm guessing all the Iowa people bought up the Des Moines tickets expecting Iowa to be there. Iowa residents got first crack at the tickets. Iowa State fans will not be Kansas fans. It will be interesting to see how many tickets Kansas fans can get.

How do you remember this stuff? Geez I'm too freakin old!

Actually Kansas Ellis at the power forward not center. You guys got hosed
Who plays center then? I'm looking at your minute distribution and Ellis is the only big getting 25 mpg. You play small quite a bit

Landen Lucas?

Landen Lucas?
Yeah your right he splits time with jamari taylor. they do still play 3 guards so Hamilton is operating at a height advantage. It's quite the opposite of our first real matchup vs Colorado that has some size on the perimeter.

Wow, mid majors didn't get any love, unless they won their tournament. I thought Tulsa was out, but I guess our league wasn't as snubbed as years past. I thought a few more mid majors would get in.

Yeah, Lucas gets the majority of minutes at Center. His ONLY job is to play defense and rebound. Other than Lucas we play three guards (Selden, Graham and Mason) with Ellis playing the 4. This is a different Bil Self team from the past in that he starts two point guards in Mason and Graham and pretty much everyone with exception of Lucas is a good three point shooter.

Does not bode well for Temple. The AAC champ is a 9 seed?

Look at Cal Bears. 23-10, and a 4 seed.

The AAC is dreck, basically, according to the committee

EDIT: Temple is in as a 10.

Had UConn not won the first 2 games, I think UConn would have been out.

I also think UConn may want to reconsider the tough 7 game P5 OOC schedule. It may not be worth it anymore.

Cal is the most over seeded team in the tournament

Can anyone explain Oregon State as a seven seed?

And I can't believe Cinci is tempting me to pick them to make a run with that bracket, they always do and I am always disappointed. @kobe

.-.
No. That's my biggest bone of contention.

I kind of get having to play a little lose to avoid conference match ups but make them the 10 seed, not that VCU deserved a 7, but sure as hell more than Oregon State.

As a Husky and a Jayhawk, this was the one matchup I didn't want for either team. I'd like to see them meet in the final 4 instead. I'm annoyed.

UConn is the 8/9 seed most capable of taking down a #1. KU is the strongest #1. This isn't like the young KU teams of recent years.

That's an issue. Not exactly our strong suit.

So you think beating a team who did not make it to the NIT and a Temple team with an RPI of 63 and Kenpom of 86 moved us up 13 spots? Really?

The seeding and teams who made it made it clear UConn was in whether they beat Cincy or not.

Tulsa's inclusion proved that we were already dancing regardless of the Cincy outcome, in my opinion...
