Now that Baylor looks like its old self, I've been looking for an excuse to move them up on my next BY ballot. Kentucky conveniently provided me with an opening today.
On what basis are we concluding that Baylor looks like its old self? Because they beat Southern?

Kim has a long history of trying to impress people by beating up on the Little sisters of the poor and befuddled. I no longer fall for it.

They dismantled Texas Tech pretty good the other day. Or did I imagine it?

Oh yeah that’s true. Not much better than beating Southern if you ask me. I’ll pay attention when they show up against a halfway decent team. Of which, I might add, there are precious few in the big 12 this year.

Talk about having to eat humble pie. I take back everything I said about how bad they were and the whole Big East. Wait, why just don't I just deny I ever said it.

WVU is solid team IMO. Baylor is a good team, I wouldn't consider them elite yet. I think they lost a lot from last year and still trying to find themselves. I think Kim Will eventually get them there but it will be a bumpy year at times. I feel they are sweet 16/elite 8 team at this time.

UCONN game will be a golden opportunity to show how much they have really grown since Arkansas. They still have work to do, especially with ball security.

Wait, what? You mean you had Kentucky HIGHER than Baylor this game? Based on exactly what-beating Indiana? Serves you right...;)

What? Oklahoma State doesn’t do it for you? A resurgent Kansas team? How about good ole Sherri Coale and Oklahoma-nothing? TCU with Reagan Pebley? Well at least there’s K-State with Ayoki Lee

Y’all who are dumping on need to lay off atleast they’re playing competition. I see a lot of talking heads whose team has only played Mass Methodist and Corn field State . Hmm when it comes time to face real teams I think Kentucky will be ready and those others teams feasting on cupcakes will be in for a rude awakening...

Um... Texas Tech has a 20 point loss to Rice. And wins over UTRGV, HBU, and ANG. Know who teams those are? Neither do I. :)

TTU was picked 6th by the coaches in the preseason poll, and the bottom of that conference is dreadful. So beating Texas Tech may be no more impressive than beating UMASS Lowell. At least UM-L has a legit shot at making the NCAA's... And I bet SHU would beat TTU...

Getting back to Kentucky vs. DePaul - I think L'ville is just a REALLY bad matchup for DePaul. UCONN traditionally runs rings around Doug's team, and I think is another team that is a bad matchup for them. DePaul is a legit top 25 team in spite of losing to L'ville and aTm (by only 2 points BTW)...

I believe that UTRGV is Univ of Texas Rio Grande Valley, HBU is Houston Baptist Univ, and I don't know who ANG is. Just discovered who ANG is, they are div II Angelo State. So they had some powerhouse teams that they won against.

West Virginia just barely beat Tennessee. At home. I guess it depends on what the word solid means. They’re not as pathetic as Auburn or Vanderbilt or Cal and some other teams, so maybe by comparison to them they appear solid.

So Spur, let me ask ya, what place does Kentucky earn in the SEC this year and how far do you think they go in the NCAA? To me, They are at best, 3rd most likely 4th/5th. I think they top out at Sweet 16.
I got SC, Arkansas, MSU, KY, Texas A&M, Tenn and then SC to FF, Arkansas maybe to Elite 8. Thoughts?

Umm, I am a bit confused, please tell us how you really feel...:D

BTW, I really liked the ND-ND State game tonight, in OT...yes I know it was a non sequitur but while I had your attention, I just wanted to let you know how you have influenced my viewing...;)

I can still see a top 3 finish for KY. They just got Massengill eligible after last nights loss and the talent will come together. The coaching is questionable so I say talent wise I say they max out as an Elite 8 team but they can bow out early depends on if Howard is ready to elevate her game to the next level. They have some good resume wins so the lost to DePaul shouldn’t hurt them. They have been tested in the non conference so I think they’ll be a tough out once they get some team cohesion.

Anyone else notice Jewell Lloyd with the DePaul staff on the sidelines? Is she an AC with the blue demons?

I like TAMU more than you. It’s early but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them near or at the top of the SEC. They have a road win against DePaul (which has turned out more impressive than I first thought) and a road win against Texas. They looked really solid playing against Texas. They have what used to be Minnesota’s best player coming off the bench.

I thought we had the best Minnesota player, but Paige is starting.

Loyd chose to skip playing overseas this offseason so she could relax at home after the bubble. That free time gives her the opportunity to finish college. The former Notre Dame student is now enrolled at DePaul University.
