I was in at a different company in Boston on 9/11, which itself was a terrible experience; but, my current employer here in NYC has a memorial wall with just under 300 names on it…never forget

will never forget how that day unfolded, terrible. Wr had several clients in WTC, didn't know them personally, don't know if any died, but 2 months after attack, our department shut its doors due to loss of clients.

So many innocent people lost their lives on that day, can never forget, hard to beilieve its been 12 years.

I was at work, actually on break, had a TV on, saw the flames and smoke. Trying to work was very hard, then we heard of the second plane and it hit home what that meant. So many innocent people. Can you im agine the terror on those planes knowing what was going to happen.

I was sitting in my high school algebra class. Everything just stopped that day. So surreal. I still remember every detail about that day. Doesn't feel like it's been 12 years.

The atmosphere for first UConn football game afterwards (Sept. 22) was unforgettable. Everybody was still in a bit of a daze unsure how to act at sporting event but it was comforting to be with a lot of other people as we tried to figure out what normal was going to be. Holding hands with strangers and singing "God Bless America" . . . . doesn't seem that long ago.

My wife's brother Adam Lewis was a young man who had earned his American Dream with hard work and an outgoing, engaging personality. He was quick with a laugh while underneath his competitive spirit was ready and willing to take on any challenge and obliterate it. From a small residence in the city he worked his way to a place at Hamilton College where he was a 2 sport athlete playing football and baseball.

After graduation he made his way to Keefe Bruyette and Woods where he built a career as very successful trader and analyst. But he was also busy building a family with his wife and 4 young children. They lost him too soon.

I have mixed emotion about 911 and it's aftermath. But they are all clear emotions. Mostly I'm angry about the widows and children who lost moms and dads. Not proud to say but I wish we could have killed OBL and his friends once for each of those survivors. Of course I'm also proud of my brothers and sisters who responded and sacrificed in so many ways. They are what makes me proud to be who and what I aspire to even if I never face a moment of truth of that magnitude.

In the end I'll do what I usually do. Try to appreciate what I have and the people that have always been there for us, and maybe give a little more back and complain a little less. And maybe try to outrun my anger at the track in a few minutes. It usually works. Missing Adam today, everyday.

My step daughter flew out of Bradley at 8:30 AM that morning on her way back to Hawaii. I was working for a financial services company at the time with TV's around the office.

My gut was turning until 10:30 AM when she finally called after landing in Pittsburgh.

Never will forget that feeling and that day.

The 99 in my screen name indicates the yr I was hired as a FDNY fireman. I lost a lot of friends that day..the pain never really goes away but you try to do your best and honor them each and every day! The time digging at the World Trade Center will probably cost me in the end BUT I would do it all over again in a second! And if it were to happen again tomorrow..we (he first responders) would do the EXACT same thing!

It's unfortunate for all the people around the world who died as a result of this attack. And many, many, many have. May all those who passed away in relation to this even rest in peace for eternity. For the rest of us, it's a new world.
