I agree the sub 300 RPI games destroy the hard earned wins against the top teams RPI wise. With smarter scheduling we could win those games by 20 rather than 40 and have a significantly better RPI.
The challenge would be playing those games at home only. There are economics involved - especially with the current TV deal. Warde can't give up gate receipts, quite frankly.
Personally, I would like UConn to think outside the box that no longer works - and drop nearly all the cupcake games - schedule top teams home and away - and make up revenue by selling out games - we could add 5,000 ticket sales at XL vs against a cupcake. It would also help the TV ratings.

I agree. If UConn wants to sell out the games it does have on its schedule, it needs to give fans a reason to buy season tickets.

Members of the tournament selection committee have acknowledged that they've shifted more towards computer based metrics(ie guys like Kenpom) and aren't focused as much on RPI as they used to be. I wouldn't get too wrapped up in tracking this every day.

Right, instead they give fans reasons to not buy season tickets.

Individuals evaluating a team's strength, perhaps, but the information is still organized and framed in a lens of the RPI on their nitty gritty sheet (top 25 RPI wins, record against RPI top 100, etc.).
