76 Team NCAA Tournament Coming

I hated the idea of going to 76 teams and I did not care how they would try to work it. But reading this tweet makes the idea sound even more grotesque.

As long as they’re play in games and not “tournament” games I don’t see the problem. If anything it gives all those teams on the outside looking in a final chance to prove they belong.

And it’s more money for the sport.

Let’s see. They have a chance to prove it in the regular season and failed. Then another chance in their conference tournament. Fail. Now you want to give 2 time failures another chance? I have an idea. Let’s give everyone a trophy. Heck you don’t even need to win your league to get in if you are in a major conference.

Oh and the play in games are indeed part of the tournament. The count for records. They earn credits for the winners. The NCAA even calls them the first round!

I loved our 76 team in the NCAA Tournament. Whelton and Weston in the backcourt. Got all the way to the Sweet Sixteen.
