Mullins, Ball, Demary, Karaban, Smith, Stewart and Ross all made at least one 3 point shot last night and the team made 16 of them, a season high.

Have we ever had 7 guys hit a three before, or is this a new team best?

It's like all the pent up poor shooting came out at once into one glorious game. We should vote on favorite of the night? Lot's of good ones. I particularly liked Mullins long distance pull up. Also really liked Ross' given set up so nicely.

Not even close, actually! As one might expect, our record for most players making a 3 pointer happened during the 23-24 season, because our walk-ons got so much playing time. It was the Xavier blowout, when 10 players made a 3. If this isn't an NCAA record, it's gotta be damn close. Box score here.

Guys who made at least one 3:
  • Tristen
  • Donovan
  • Steph
  • Alex
  • Cam
  • Solo
  • Jaylin
  • Apostolos (!)
  • Hassan
  • Andrew Hurley (!!)

Wow. How quickly I forgot! Cool that Solo, Alex, and Jaylin were part of both. Props to Ross for going 2 for 2.

Not Tarris? #soft

There was a really nice around-the-horn one in the second half I believe. A couple guys made an extra pass ultimately resulting in Mullins or Karaban getting a very open look in the corner. The bench, directly opposite the shooter, erupted.

Man, Ross needs to shoot more. That catch and shoot 3 is one of the prettiest , purest I've seen in a UConn uniform.
Ross’ two threes which were catch and shoot impressed me. He shot those forcefully without hesitation and they were perfect form as you said. I know shooters can be streaky but what do you think happened with him? Is it confidence?

Coaches finally told the team as well as Ross and Stewart they are not the fifth options on the floor. They finally got the green light to score this game.

That's always my best guess. I put more stake in the mental side of athletic performance than most. I think he was shooting with confidence when it was earlier in the season. But during our iffy streak of close games in January I guess he may not have wanted to make a mistake with such slim margins??

Either way, when he and JStew play like they did last night i feel we are the best team in the country.

Hurley called his boy Oates and said "that is how you get everyone making 3s!"

Mullins has the smoothest catch and 3 by a good mile. With Ross, it's like "here comes a 3!", and with Mullins it's "There went a 3!"
Mullins has a quick trigger on his six shooter. Ross is pulling out and mounting a rifle.

Still, no one beats Solo's shot in terms of the beauty of it. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's the prettiest jumper in UConn history. Ray's was also nice, but there is something about Solo's form that is picturesque.

The combination of Mullins exceptional foot work and fluid/quick stroke make him a matchup nightmare. Always seems to be "ready" and in position to get his shot off when needed. Not to mention the spacing impact/gravity he creates for his teammates to get their shots. Guessing BM and Coach Nardi have had discussions about the Nova up-fake motion before stroking the J. LOL

Good call. I think its a ginger vs Mary Ann thing. If you like arching 3's you'll like watching Mullins, If you like bang-bang 3s you may prefer Ross style. I like the quick hit Ross 3. But Solo, especially because of the left hand is really nice. All lefties look better- baseball swings, pitching and QB's.

Solo’s second make because it made him either 2-3 or 2-4 and he got fired up about it. Looked confident.
