In the course of winning 10 National Championships, 65 UCONN Women Players have won National Championships. Only Tennessee and UCONN have won three in a row, Tennessee once and UCONN twice. Hopefully we will have to add a new column for 4 National Championships and increase the number of players to 69.

Technically shouldn't Buck have 3? 09, 10, 13? She came and left with Doty...

I would have guessed a much higher number considering the first two national championships had to have produced in the neighborhood of 25 players. However, winning them back to back to back twice can reduce the numbers.

Truly remarkable that UCONN has 14 different players that have won 3 National Championships. How many for the rest of WCBB? Can't be that many because outside of UCONN a player would have to have been been a Lady Vol between 1987- 1991 or a Lady Vols 1996-1998 to even be in a position to win 3 NC.

If Tuck gets credit for a championship in her redshirt year (2014), shouldn't Butler get credit for the 2015 championship?

Hate to say this but I think Shea has only one championship (2000). I don't think she was on the 2002 team. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

It's easier to count the players since 1995 who have not won a ring. I can think of Amy Duran, Charde Houston, Mel Thomas and maybe two or three more.

You are correct

Jerlis, Morgan actual played in several games before she got hurt. Nathalie hasn't played in any games yet. So, although she most likely was presented with a ring for her roll in practice, she actually didn't win a National Championship. Neaggrad same with Heather because she didn't play in any games in 2008-2009.

Natalie Butler was a transfer not a redshirt, BTW Shea wasn't on the 2002 team she was gone. She played 1996-2001.

Thanks for posting this. Rigby's year should be 2000.

Thanks for finding my errors. My typing skills appear to be limited and I should have my wife double check my spelling. I have made the appropriate corrections to my table. Terrible Tom brought up a good point pertaining to who has played at UCONN between 1999-2000 and 2014-2015 and hadn't won a National Championship.

"If" my research is correct a total of 62 woman played between 1999-2015. Of those 62, only 8 did not win a National Championship. If my math is correct that means 87.1% of these player's won a National Champion. Of those 8 who didn't, only two (Mel THOMAS and Charde HOUSTON) played their entire four years. Three (Brittany HUNTER, Lauren ENGELN and Michala JOHNSON) only played two years, one (Rashidat SADIQ) only played one year and two (Samarie WALKER and Sadie EDWARDS) only played one-half of a season. And if both WALKER & EDWARDS would have remained for the their entire seasons, they also would have won a National Championship. No other Women's program can come anywhere close to matching these numbers.

I believe Ketia Swanier also played 4 years without a title.

First and foremost, I want to thank you for your remarkable post. The work and time that went into it is obvious and appreciated. In addition, I also want to apologize for the people whose first reaction is to criticize or correct your efforts. Over 675 people read the post but only 14 bothered to give it the “like” it deserved. Sad.

Perhaps the BY should warn people who want to post that every word, name and fact will be scrutinized, corrected and debated. I know that I come to the BY to post and read threads for fun, not to feel like I’m back in school and being graded for spelling and punctuation. I propose a new BY rule. From now on, readers can’t just correct a mistake. Instead, they should re-write the whole post and make it perfect in every way. That is what they want, right?

As someone who misspells often and abuses the English language regularly, maybe I should stop seeing 25+ games a year and posting pictures for true fans and families to see. I’ll just stay home and correct and nitpick every post, because that is what BY readers really enjoy. Right?

On second thought, maybe I’ll just leave that job for the grammar police.

Can't remember if Kirsten Phillips played her FR year or not??? (Charles class). I believe she transferred out by the Soph year though.

Only thing I could find wrong. ;)

I think those who offered corrections weren't criticizing so much as trying to help. Compiling this list was extremely time consuming and labor intensive, and I think the OP wants it to be as accurate as possible. I imagine s/he is much more appreciative of the interest and assistance of others than offended.

If the only thing someone can level criticism about is either a legit spelling error or in many cases a simple and equally obvious typo than I say kudos to the poster. As long as we are at it KELLY FARIS - only one R....sorry about that, probably just a sticky keyboard.

Two did not SOUND offended, far as I could tell. However, let me now express the like I should have taken the time to give him or her and express my appreciation for all the work put into the digging. Two thumbs up!

ps; most of the corrections of spelling and grammar are just good-natured banter.

Put another way, about 114 Championship Rings have been won by UConn players.
