It's some chode's made-up, non-sensical metric. Pay it no mind.

This whole blue blood thing is so asinine. Why does what happened in the 40s and 50s matter now? I suppose San Francisco and Oklahoma St are blue bloods cuz they won multiple times in the 40s - 50s. So ridiculous. Indiana has pretty much been a joke for 25+ years now yet every media outlet has them ahead of us historically. Just don't see it.

Having national media regard us as a blue blood can only be good for the program. Why wouldn't you want that?

I could well be wrong but I don't believe that the national media is strong enough to destroy us.

According to experts less than 0.004% of people beyond the age of six have any remaining conscious memories from before their third birthday. In simple terms, shy of perhaps a transfer or two over the next couple of seasons (if we are ti consider that route), nobody that we will ever recruit again will have any reference point in his lifetime where we didn't have at least one title. That will carry far more weight in the continued progression of our program than whether some blogger claims we belong ahead of or behind Indiana, Kansas et al.

I stopped reading after this:

If we were ranking these teams solely on what they’ve done since 1999, the Huskies would likely be closer to the top.

Closer to the top? Really...?

I was gonna write same thing...lost whatever credibility they had with that dumb comment

That's not the point, it's not a matter of whether the media could damage us, it's a matter of fans on here seemingly not caring that the media fluffing us up can only be a good thing for the program. Why wouldn't anyone want espn/si/whoever building us up as a peer of duke, uk, unc?

Especially when the next sentence reads: Nobody has been more successful in that time period.

I'm one of the .004%. I'm in the club! I hope we get to be rich too.

Look at it this way by comparing championships and FF appearances.

UCONN 4 for 5
Kansas 2 for 8
Ky 3 for 7
UNC 3 for 9
Dook 4 for 11

No other team have more championships than we do, but we also have, by far, the best winning % for final four appearance. Plus we beat two of the "top 5" programs for our championships. IMO that says it all.

I watched the first five games while helping to care for twin two-and-a-half year old boys. I taught them to say,"Go Huskies" and now you're telling that they'll never remember this? Fine, I'll keep at it, so that they're ready for a National Championship when they're old enough to remember.
