Bluder’s got to try to keep those bench players on the bench if she wants to win this. Goodman is bad.

I havent seen much of Rutgers this year but Diamond Johnson should get a lot more publicity than she does. She's been the best player on the court tonight.
Huh?

Clark with some bad shots there and then some turnovers by Iowa letting Rutgers cut this lead away

Clark with double double

Clark/Czinano combination will be really fun again next season

Did Iowa play a triangle and 2 the entire night? Embarrassing that Rutgers couldn’t figure that out offensively.

The Big 10 tourney has been almost as unchalky as the Mountain West was. In one semi it's 1 vs. 5 and in the other it's 6 vs 7.

Wow, three top 25 teams go down to unranked teams, does that mean it is a deep league? Huh, no, it means those teams were overrated!

First time watching Rutgers. Overranked. Iowa does a nice job of moving the ball. Iowa is one of those teams who could get hot at the right time in the tournament and wreck your bracket

Rutgers had games with Maryland, Michigan, Indian and Iowa all cancelled during the regular season. The Big10 did themselves no favor by not having any of those games rescheduled as RU did not play an indicative schedule to warrant the #3 seed in the B10 Tournament. I also stand by my view that this conference is littered with teams from 26-40 in ranking. Other than Maryland, who may or may not be elite, I do not see any of these schools making it to the Sweet 16. Heck even Maryland given their recent flameouts in the NCAA could miss the S16 as their schedule shows no top 10 games with victories over overranked Michigan at #12, overranked tOSU at #14 and over #17 Arkansas with a loss to Missouri State. Yes, they have been dominating lately so who really knows about this team.

The seeding is based off of conference record correct? Just looking for clarification for my own understanding.

The attempts to reschedule definitely didn't help RU but how much of it could they control? If my memory is correct, Michigan went into their second pause when Rutgers came out of theirs. Trying to cram games in towards the end of Feb was a challenge for several teams. The BIG10 has culpability but unexpected factors didn't help either.

There's an inherent danger in making grand pronouncements based on a single data point.

This was by far one of Iowa's best performances, and certainly one of Rutgers's worst. Iowa went 0-5 against Ohio State, Northwestern and Michigan State, while Rutgers went 3-0 against those three teams, with two of those wins on the road. So Iowa's 2-0 record against Rutgers runs counter to how these two teams otherwise performed.

Agreed that Iowa is a dangerous team. Both teams will likely be seeded 5 or 6. If Iowa can win the Big Ten tournament, outside chance they could move up to a 4.

I'd say the conference that's littering (nice word choice!) the 26-50 range is the ACC: Georgia Tech, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Florida State, North Carolina, Wake Forest and arguably Notre Dame. Here are the Massey ratings FWIW:

Not sure why Maryland not having top 10 opponents on its schedule suggests it can't reach the Sweet 16. They'll only have to beat a 7 seed at best to get that far. I think Michigan, OSU and Indiana aren't quite as good as their ranking but they're still in the top 25 IMO.

Probably so....but I didn't have another data point. During the game I couldn't believe how many wide-open 3-point looks Iowa got during the game. Rutgers looked confused on D--and they had already played Iowa, so that was surprising to me. Unfortunate that Rutgers had as many game cancellations as they did. As is the case in the NCAA Tournament, how each team matches up in the draw is most important.

Rutgers has always struggled with Iowa since joining the BIG they have only beat Iowa once, last season during their Senior Day (home game) when they lead big but were forced into OT to pull out the win. Iowa usually has strong post play which Rutgers usually lacks and their player movement keeps Rutgers from getting their defense set the way they want since Iowa loves to back cut when they overplay.

Far from Iowa's best game this season, but they are learning how to win in different ways as the season goes on and for a young team that is good to see.

Yes on Rutgers, ranked because of overrated coach. Iowa like Arkansas. also no defense. Rutgers too where was their vaunted defense?
