I belive that Paiges assist to turnover ratio this year is about 3.8 to 1!
3.81 is Paige’s A to TO ratio.Geno was mistaken. Sue Bird did it in 2001-02: 50.5/46.6/94.2 with an Assist to Turnover ratio of 2.48.
Geno in his presser said that Paige was 50/40/90 with an assist to turnover ratio of 2 to 1 and that that had never been done before.
Paige’s A/TO ratio is actually 3.81 which leads the nation, and that, along with shooting 50/40/90, has never been done before, even by Sue.Geno was mistaken. Sue Bird did it in 2001-02: 50.5/46.6/94.2 with an Assist to Turnover ratio of 2.48.
50/40/90 is truly remarkable but a 3.81 A/TO on top of that is just incomprehensible. It is probably accurate to say that she is the most precise and efficient women’s college basketball player of all time.Paige’s A/TO ratio is actually 3.81 which leads the nation, and that, along with shooting 50/40/90, has never been done before, even by Sue.
I think they said Paige was over 3 to 1 on the telecast last night and that hadn't been done before.Geno in his presser said that Paige was 50/40/90 with an assist to turnover ratio of 2 to 1 and that that had never been done before.
Careful. You don’t want to dislocate your shoulder patting yourself on the back…Some really forward thinking person had commented on the 50/40/90 in addition to the turnover/assist ratio well before ESPN picked up on it. This is from a previous 50/40/90 thread on March 11th on the BY...
Jaml:
In addition to Paige's quest for 50/40/90, she is running away from the rest of the country in assist/turnover ratio. Maybe that is the other thing to chase; with only 7 other players with a better than 3 to 1 ratio, Paige is getting close to 4 to 1, currently at 3.90. You would think that this type of all around efficiency still has her in the NPOY discussion. Sarah comes in strong at number 47. The only other top NPOY candidate in the top 250 is Hannah Hildago at 202, the others (Watkins & Betts) are outside of the top 250. I know this is cherry picking a bit, but the 50/40/90 in addition to the t/o ratio is very impressive and I would be shocked if it wasn't unprecedented.
preach brother preachIf Azzi can hit her next 10 of 11 FGs, she will be at 50% (162/324)
A side by side comp for Hidalgo, Watkins and Paige
Hidalgo GP-31 47.3% (263/556); 40.8% (62/152); 86.3% (158/183); 1.33 A/TO 24.1 PPG
Watkins GP-33 42.6% (254/596); 32.5% (63/194); 82.0% (218/266); 1.08 A/TO 23.9 PPG
Paige GP-34 54.2% (250/461); 41.1% (60/146); 90.2% (92/102); 3.90 A/TO 19.2 PPG
I am constantly amazed by the pundits lack of scrutiny and the sole focus on points per game. Watkins, while a great player, is a volume shooter and yet still has less points per game than Hidalgo, who has almost 100 more shots than Paige while playing 3 less games.
But yeah media, keep touting Juju as the best player....NOT.
I did a similar, less detailed, analysis some weeks back that also included Madison Booker, who’s stats are even less efficient than Hidalgo or Watkins. If Azzi can hit her next 10 of 11 FGs, she will be at 50% (162/324)

I hear, and the stats for her are below. I have been scratching my head on how many voters keep putting her on the 1st Team All-American list when her contributions do not warrant that inclusion. She's very, very good but others are better. But you know the saying "to the Vic-tor, go the spoils" (see what I did there?I did a similar, less detailed, analysis some weeks back that also included Madison Booker, who’s stats are even less efficient than Hidalgo or Watkins.
Several AA teams swap out Booker on the 1st team for LSU’s Morrow, who is imo the better choice.I hear, and the stats for her are below. Booker GP-33 45.9% (206/449), 43.9% (25/57), 82.9% (97/117), 1.35 A/TO 16.2 PPG
Again, very good stats but just below the elite.
As for the lower scoring average, Paige is not giving up much from the field, since her shooting averages are much better. The big difference is at the free throw line. Refs just refuse to put Paige at the line, perhaps that's why you've seen her pull up for so many mid-range jump shots in the paint....especially this year. Why drive all the way to the hoop and get clobbered and nothing is called, therefore also hurting her FG%. Juju had one more free throw attempt in her 5 minutes last night than Paige did in her 29 minutes. If Azzi can hit her next 10 of 11 FGs, she will be at 50% (162/324)

Does Geno have any idea he's got this army of fact-checkers out there?Geno was mistaken. Sue Bird did it in 2001-02: 50.5/46.6/94.2 with an Assist to Turnover ratio of 2.48.
Post on post is the most physical you will find in basketball. Most of the time they dish it out and they take which is fair since you don't want to call a foul every time down the floor and end the game with your 4th team center in the game. Griner at the time was 4 or so inches taller than everyone else and actually had some athleticism in her game. She was a difference maker for sure. Then you probably didn't see much of Griner at Baylor. Double and triple teams were the norm day in and day out. She got the living heck beaten out of her. Referees almost went on strike because they had to call two different games when Baylor took the court, while only being paid for one!![]()
Paige said yesterday that she didn't care about this stuff. If I stumble into it again I'll bring it over.
Found it. Video starts at the 50-40-90 question.
Packwrap, even if Paige would have made the free throw against Marquette on the last regular season game, she still would not have been at 90% for the season (89.88 to be precise).True, but both Paige and Azzi for years have talked about 50/40/90 and because they had/have personal contact, even with Kobe and Stef in person.
When Paige missed a free throw recently that would have locked in the reg season #, you could tell she knew.
This efficiency target is not really a distraction from team goals. Just good fun and a wager between friends.
The beauty is both of them would trade the natty for any individuals awards.
Unfortunately Paige also had 3 (early) TOs and only 1 assist (which I couldn't believe when I saw it).Ok, sadly Paige missed her last free throw tonight and is at .895 (94/105). I spoke with Geno, and while we discussed kicking her off the team, we decided she can if she makes her next 5 free throws to get back to 90% (99/110).
Her FG% is .545 (266/488 and 3-Pt% is .429 (66/154).
Somebody please remind me who KML is I can't think.Having a total of 180 is very possible. As a sophomore, KML had 191.5; as a senior, she had 190.1. Sue had 191.3 as a senior. I doubt many have done better.
Paige's career is 179.6. Azzi's career is 178.4. In comparison, Caitlin had 169.7.
Kalena Mosk.... LewisSomebody please remind me who KML is I can't think.
