One thing that Texas has exposed in its games against Baylor is Didi's weakness as a ball-handler. She is shaky with the ball and there are teams that are going to look to put a lot of ball pressure on her.
We knew Didi wasn't a natural ball handler/PG all year. Games where teams are pretty pesky defensively just illustrate it more. She does the best she can.

I understand it's a new and unnatural role for her. I'm not criticizing her, but simply identifying a weakness that teams with good defenders will look to exploit.

The lack of a natural ball handler and turnovers are my biggest issues with Baylor going into post season.

Just like a few years ago when Oregon State knocked Baylor out of the tourney, their inability to shoot effectively from beyond the 3-pont line will be their downfall. They made 1 today. Doubled Texas on the glass, but only won by 11 points. Making 3-pointers is a great way to offset Baylor's dominance in the paint and on the glass.

I personally don't think they 'have' to shoot the 3 ball to go far in the tourney. That said the turnovers are far more pressing issues to me.

Less opportunities to score and more opportunities for the opponent. Baylor commits way too many, especially unforced.

Like for everyone, it's all about matchups come tourney time. If Baylor doesn't encounter a great 3-point shooting team in the tournament, then they probably won't lose that game.

Most teams don't forge a new identity during March madness; if your weaknesses during the regular season were 3-point shooting and turnovers, they will most likely still be your weaknesses come March madness. A team can still win and advance if they do a lot of the other things at a high level.

Miss St fans will gladly take Vic back ;)

Hey, I was thinking about this, would you, as an LSU die hard fan, take Karen Aston as a replacement for Nikki? I mean the one complaint about Nikki Fargas was she does not recruit well and that is something that Aston did extremely well at Texas. I don't know that she would win any SEC titles going up against SC but the talent alone could/should get you in the top 4 every year.

Probably not. Would I let her recruit for us? Sure.... Coach? Hell no ;)

All I have to say is if we want to get back to where we were before, recruiting far better players stands out to me the most right now. Talent levels have dried up pretty bad since pokey left. Van was alright recruiting but couldn't figure out how to use them. Nikki simply can't recruit at all and it has taken us to where we are today.

Or when Louisville took Baylor out in Griners senior year.

Why is it I am constantly underwhelmed by Charlie Collier especially in big games and against as talented inside players? No, seriously how is she considered the #1 pick when she can't match up with other bigs her size and can't stay out of foul trouble? Oh the things she could have achieved had she stayed committed to UConn...
I've wondered that myself. Her paired with ONO would have been an intriguing combination.

The next thought that follows every time though is would she have stayed for her whole career? I'm not convinced that would have happened.
