I would say that don't really have a true replacement for Perez, though Crutchfield can slide over if necessary.
 
Boy, this game has bogged down.
 
Not much scoring this quarter. Don't know if the Ds have tightened up or just both teams have gone cold. Been stuck at 25-23 for quite a while.
 
First FTs of the game coming at 1:40 of Q2.
 
NC St. had missed 9 FGs in a row yet maintained their lead. Huh.
 
Wasn’t Olivia Cochrane like 6’1 and more of guard/forward at one point? Now she’s 6’3 and forward/center? Or am I tripping?

Cochran is a turnover machine right now and Smith needs to stop shooting. Cards are lucky NC State wasn’t able to convert more of those.

I think Raina Perez has a limited skillset, but is having quite the game so far.

NC State shot 34.3 percent on 12 of 35 shooting, and was 3 of 13 from THREE. Louisville shot 11 of 29 from the field for 37.9%, and was 3 of 10 from THREE.

Raina Perez has 10 points for NC State, 7 for Elissa Cunane. Kayla Jones has not scored yet but does have 6 rebounds. Cunane and Camille Hobby have 5 boards each.

Dana Evans leads Louisville with 10 points. Elizabeth Balogun has 5. Liz Dixon has 6 boards.

NC State outrebounding Louisville 23-18, including 7-2 on the offensive glass, and leads 16-8 in points in the paint.

Cunane looks excellent for her first game back.
 
It’s a nice game but I would take the Stanford/UCLA game over this one as I think both those teams looked better thus far. However there is a half to go, so we shall see.
 
Interesting halftime interview with Dana Evans, the only senior on the Louisville team. I like everything about her and her game except for her giant fake eyelashes. She’s fun to watch play. Not sure who I want to win. Louisville is undefeated, and it might be good for UConn tournament seeding if Jeff’s team lost. Close game so far.

NC State has stretched their lead to 8. Hailey Van Lith has gotten more aggressive this half.
 
NC State with a 12-6 outburst to start 3rd quarter...41-31, NC State. Kayla Jones, scoreless in the first half, has come alive, with 5 quick points and now 8 boards. Louisville having trouble with Raina Perez.
 
Where would State be without Perez this season.... they kinda lucked into getting her.

Her list of other schools was a bunch of meh, NC St. was the only decent team IIRC.
 
Louisville just can't hit shots tonight. Both teams under 40% but NC State has enough more shots to build a lead.

Louisville w/ back to back buckets probably for the first time in about 15 minutes of game time.
 
Action picked up at the end of Q3. NC State leading 49-44. Louisville had hit 4 in a row til that last 3 didn't go.
 
Evans is suddenly up to 17. Seemed like she hadn't scored all quarter, then the points came in a hurry.

Dana Evans desperation THREE goes in at a shot clock buzzer...NC State answered with a jumper and has a 49-44 lead, going to the 4th.

Can Evans lead the Cards back one more time? Louisville hit 5 of its last 6 shots in the 3rd stanza.

NC State was up 56-44...then Dana Evans with another THREE...she's up to 20 points now. 56-47 game...7:29 left.

Louisville has 7 blocks in this game.
 
Has Dana Evans ever missed a shot in a 4th quarter?
 
Evans is as clutch as it comes. Cant let her shoot a 3 from any distance.
