Being from a non-P5 conference is tough. UConn scheduled a series of teams that were expected to be better national contending teams and fell far short. Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tenn, OK, Vanderbilt.

I don't think a single one of those teams was expected to be a national contending team. Notre Dame lost 5 starters. Tennessee lost 2 of their better players and were in their first year under a new coach. Ohio St. is rebuilding. Oklahoma and Vandy haven't been relevant in years.

UConn did pound California by 11 pts.

When we're the contracts for those games signed?

I don't think it could've been signed long enough ago to expect anything from Vandy. Maybe some of the others. Certainly Notre Dame's downturn this season wouldn't have been predicted a couple years ago.

That was UConn's first game of the year. During that same period, MD eked out a two point win over.mid-major James Madison.
