3pm

Veteran's Day. Most people have it off. A reason to get people into Hartford and spend money.

I don't think I know anyone who has a holiday on veterans day. Markets are open and the schools in my town are in session. I don't like the 3PM start but at least it isn't a 12PM start.

it's going to be a morgue in there. Oh well. I just noticed a 9pm start against Stanford too. I'll be a zombie the next day at work after that late night. Glad I can provide background color at the game to the yahoos who are watching at home in thier jammies.

Every once in a while, Beerfan and I bring up one of the only 9PM games we've had at the HCC/XL over the years....an early 90's game vs Motumbo and GTown. The place was absolutely wild. We always figured it was because everyone had 3+ hours to drink in downtown Hartford before the tipoff. :D

It depends. I have Veteran's day off and schools are closed in my town. I thought unless there is an extraordinary circumstance (i.e. Hurricane Irene, S.S. Sandy), schools are closed. Banks are also closed. I remember the Casino being pretty packed that day last year as well.

Even if schools weren't closed they get out at 3pm or prior. It may be a good opportunity to go to take your kid to a game without the typically bologna of a night game. When UConn plays a weekday night football game and I'm tailgating, I work through lunch and either come in an hour earlier or make up the time by working late on a different day. Though others may not have it so forgiving.

I didn't think any public schools were open on Veteran's Day. What town do you live in?

Thanks.

Now when you open the file in Excel, it needs to be delimited by the aforementioned commas...then resaved.

I totally appreciate your work! One issue: the AM/PMs on night games are screwed up. I think you need to use military time in order for it to show up as 7PM rather than 7AM.

I live in West Hartford so I thought maybe school was in session because they get the Jewish holidays off but I looked at a few other Hartford area public school calendars and only one had it off and it was a teacher training day or whatever you call it. UConn will have classes on Veterans day.

Wow I did notice that until you mentioned it. You are better off changing the times in your calendar manually I just re-import the file and now I have duplicates and have to delete the AM games. For future reference for those that have not imported yet, change the format of the game times from "General" or "Text" to "Time".

It's funny. Because so many football games were TBD, my Outlook calendar defaulted to All Day Event. Granted it's easier to change the times of 12 games as opposed to 30 and football games are all day events, by and large, including tailgating.

No problem - I just flipped it around in Outlook from AM to PM. And yes - to anyone who has the same "AM" problem in Outlook, do NOT bother to re-import the calendar, it'll make a mess (learned this from other Calendar projects). You're better off just manually doing the AM/PM change.
