Tuck 3.jpeg

Five minutes and 33 seconds into the Cincinnati game, Morgan Tuck scored her third basket on a layup to put UConn ahead 22-0. The game was over and only the final margin of victory was in doubt. Here’s a look at the key statistics of that game & the season so far:

1. Against Cincinnati, UConn scored the first 22 points, 33 of the first 35 points and 46 of the first 55 points. The final margin of 65 points was the largest this season.

2. Stewie played only 16 minutes, but had 19 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 4 steals and one blocked shot. She pasted Swin Cash, for 17th place in UConn scoring, in just 95 games. For fun, she had 0 turnovers and no fouls.

3. Cincinnati had fewer made baskets (13) than turnovers (16), fewer assists (5) than UConn blocks (6) and fewer made three pointers (4) than UConn fouls (5).

4. UConn has now won 17 straight games since the visit to Stanford. With just 4 more victories, the Huskies will tie the 8th longest streak in school history.

5. UConn starters shot 65.7% from the field vs. Cincinnati, went 10 for 10 from the free throw line, had 16 assists, 6 steals, 2 blocks and committed 0 fouls. Wow..!

6. For the season, UConn is averaging 90.1 pts per game w/ all five starters in double figures, from MoJeff at 11.7 to Stewie at 16.9 per game. All five are shooting 54.1% or better from the field.

7. For the season, UConn has more assists (401) than opponents have baskets (355). UConn also has more blocked shots (151) than opponents have made free throws (134) & more steals (208) than opponents have assists (178).

8. UConn has created more turnovers (358) than opponents have made baskets (355).

9. Gabby Williams has played 296 minutes, scored 148 pts (6th), grabbed 109 rebounds (3rd), blocked 8 shots (3rd) and pilfered 27 steals (3rd). Her 60.4% shooting average leads the team.

10. Stewie has 4 double-doubles this season & 18 for her career. KML is 2nd on the team w/ 9 career double-doubles. MoJeff has 1 for her career, Kiah Stokes has 6.

Go Huskies..!!
