How can they possibly get 35 for a game with 31k tickets sold?

The 31k includes what they gave away.

There will be maybe 25-26k in the building and they will announce 31,500.

So if my math is good you are saying we will only have 62.5% of the stadium filled? No chance.

31k tickets sold. Half the students aren't showing. That leaves you at 27,500. You don't think there will be at least a thousand no-shows.

The math is incredibly easy and 26-27k is being generous.

Hooray for bench seating, 26 can look like 31k. Interesting to see how many students and young alumni show. The blues will look bad.

I didn't figure the 31k included the giveaways. I was factoring 4k giveaways/walkup. Guess we'll see what they announce... always a fuzzy number regardless.

Thus far, we have 5 of 6 spoken for. There may be a late kid addition at the 23rd hour to max out our seats.

They announce tickets distributed.

I'd be shocked if they sell 100 walkup tickets. 10 years in everyone knows you can buy tickets for $5 in the lots. Anyone who walks towards the window has to pass multiple people selling tickets for next to nothing.

Fair point but for 10 years you can park in the Aero Club or houses by the blue lot yet people park far back in the red lot.

Football games are events people generally plan for. Walk up crowds are nearly non existent in the sport because games are either sold out - or they aren't and cheap tickets are plentiful in multiple outlets.

Went on uconntickets.com to see what was available for Towson... yeah some sections have multiple empty rows in the middle of the section... 220 looks like it'll be pretty empty, same for chairbacks. Other sections not quite as bad.

Would it hurt to just give these tickets away to veterans or high school teams? Just give the things away of there are that many and hope you make the money on the concessions.

Out of my group of 17 season tickets 16 are being used. I did recruit 3 guys who never go to games....hoping to convert them. Also chance #17 may get used. Best opening game attendance by far for my group....for whatever its worth.

It can. If you condition people that the tickets are free, you'll find they don't buy them.

But in UConn's case I don't think it matters. In the AAC they can't sell tickets, if they get an invite elsewhere they can.

UConn doesn't share any revenue from concession sales.

Need to be careful with High School teams as they are all prospective student athletes (not impossible but red tape paperwork hassles). Pop Warner would be easier to manage.

Out of my 12 tickets, only 3 are making the game.

Now that I'm in NYC and not CT making a weeknight game is impossible.

It'll be my first home game missed since the USF snow game and I'm pretty damn upset about it.

I air mailed my cousin tickets so I should have some extras if any 'Yarders need a free ticket I'll try my best to facilitate a meet up.

My best friend has no clue about collge football. My best drinking buddy is an Oklahoma fan, and when I talk up UConnFB his response is "I don't care". I may kill him someday, now that CT has repealed the death penalty.

So I'll be sitting alone, Section 139, row 20, Aisle seat 23 if anyone wans to say hi.

I'll be right with you in row 11, will say hi!

Definitely hard which is why I don't make many hoops games. But football I draw the line for. But I also don't live in the city just work there so I don't have to go all the way back after.

Aren't tickets $15 for this game -- I got an email recently to that effect? Also, would they count free tickets to the young husky club members as "sales"? (not sure if there there is a membership fee for that club where a portion would be allocated to ticket sales)

$4.50(plus fees) on Stubhub

It;s cheaper than a movie, No reason not to go for those that haven't bought tickets yet.

FYI-Cheaperst Michigan tickets are $85.
