3 UConn Commits Nominated for McDonald's Game

While this is hardly earth shattering news, UConn signees De'Janae Boykin, Napheesa Collier and Katie Lou Samuelson were nominated for the McDonald's High School All-American game.

C'mon Wonks; there were only 29 girls nominated...from Florida. And I did not see a single ham sandwich in the entire list. Of course, I did not look closely, at that.

It must be a perspective thing.

Can’t be sure, but I’ll bet all of those who do receive a nomination consider it an honor. It certainly would have been an honor to me. However, I never received one. You?

While it’s true that many more are nominated than actually end up on the team, I’m not aware of any young man or woman ever being selected for the team and then playing in the game that was not first nominated.
