3 TDs on 22 Touches

Rosa ran mostly a wildcat-type offense in HS. his athleticism was electrifying.
Neider was better.
Those two are potentially changing the level of the offense this year. A couple of half steps forward and they are killing it.

He doesn't read well behind the line of scrimmage. He runs into his blockers and fumbles more than the other running backs.

If you can get him a wide open lane or out in space like last weekend he's deadly. But like someone else already said, it is equal parts terrifying and exciting when he has the ball.

All of the critiques above, resonate with me.
and yet - this is the kid who scored 11 TDs as a freshman.
That is not an accident, and is not purely an effect of having Senn + Haynes + Lundt + Guidone, bulldozing ahead. Althrough re-writing those names down, I'm seeing that is a STUD line we had back in 2022.

I simply don't know what to make of him.

My impression is he has a tendency is to be impatient at the point of attack and bounce out to the edge. He does have an uncanny knack when he gets to the next level. Putting him at slot makes so much sense. It puts so much pressure on the D to cover the inside slant/quick out, while covering the wide out screen threat. It naturally forces the D to stay planted and opens up the mid range passing lanes. More weapons means the D has to pick its poison.
Whatever the thing motivating him it’s obviously working.

You never back things up with facts. He is averaging 4.8 yards per carry somehow plus his receptions. No fumbles lost the last 2 seasons. After your nonsense I did the math on his freshmen year and he had less fumbles lost per touch than the overall team. And 18 TDs. You are just not very bright when it comes to football. Hopefully, you are good at something else.

First 3 games (CCSU, Syr, Del): 8 carries, 80 yds, 10.0 avg, TD runs of 20 and 31.
Last 3 games (Ball, Buff, FIU): 8 carries, 13 yds, 1.6 avg, 0 TD

That's who he is right now as a RB.

So you don’t mention his long reception for TD last game and his other reception. Do you think everyone is a fool?

So you don't read? I specifically said "that's who he is as a running back right now."

So let’s pretend Victor did not have 73 yards on 2 receptions with a TD last game. Are you being intentionally dishonest or clueless? He did plenty of running for those 73 yards.

You're cherry picking your "facts".

Several people made the suggestion he should be a receiver, not a RB. I tend to agree with them. I noted only the RB stats to support that case. You kept bringing up his 5.8 yd/game average as a RB, not me.

Facts are difficult things for too many here:
5.8 average yards per carry, 14.3 yards per reception, and a TD every 7 touches this season. Zero fumbles loss.
It is amazing how critical some here are of successful outcomes. Insane.

That’s not a per game average - it is 5.8 yards per carry this season , the gold standard running backs stat. Give the ball to Victor twice and you statistically have a first down.

My God, Chief, what is your point?

Are you arguing that Rosa should be RB2? Probably no one is going to disagree with you (though his rushing stats this year are identical to Lundberg Coleman's).

That he should get more time in the slot? No one is going to disagree with you.

Everyone love Rosa and everyone is pulling for him. I don't think anyone thinks he should be starting over Cam.

So please, for the love, tell us why this thread exists.

I'm a big Victor fan, but you cannot believe he is better than Cam.

Obviously I meant carry, not game. Did you pay yourself on the back for catching an obvious error. Care to check my spelling too?

If you gave Victor two carries in the past three games, you'd have third and long. Pass to him and you're probably correct.

I truly believe he would be a better slot receiver than running back. He has good hands and very good speed. He is a one-cut back and almost always tries to take the ball outside. He would be a solid third-down back with draws and swing passes. He is not the same back that Edwards is

No. He doesn’t have enough carries this year that trying to break his stats down by first 3 games and last 3 games is meaningful.

Just trying to be fair.

This is most definitely a bye week....and the back and forth is entertaining.

Just want to say how great it is that we have the privilege of debating which excellent running back is better...especially given the fact that they are both Connecticut kids. Things could be a lot worse.

Like with every other player you take all the opportunities /touches and go with those statistics. All a player can do is make the best of the opportunities given. The statistics speak for themselves:
