I’m not huge into advanced basketball stats, but I’ve seen some studies that 3pt fg% against regresses to the mean pretty quickly.

It feels like everyone makes like crazy against UConn from 3.

Coming into today:
3pt fg% against: 35.1
NCAA 3 pt fg% against: 35.1

Sure doesn’t feel like that

Only feels that way when your own team is one of the worst 3 point shooting teams in the country.

It might be similar percentages, but the shots our opponents make are all daggers. End of the shot clock or on offensive rebounds. Doomed.

They are 318th in 3PA%. They allow a ton of attempts, and aren’t too good at closing out. Not a good combo.

Combo of playing zone and when in man cheating down to harass post. Plus scoring poorly / lots of turnovers leading to transition opportunities.

I have said it before and I agree with Whaler. All season, teams go crazy against us on 3's. 6 feet behind the 3 point line. On the run. In fact you can go into last year with the 3's. Did we forget Texas beating us on a buzzer three deep in the corner? Only for the next week Yale did the exact same thing. Exact scenario, 1 week later. Many have said we are a terrible defense on the 3's. We could do better sure. However, many have been tightly contested. Any embarrassing loss. They would have sat nicely in the standings going into UCF. They blew it...big time.
