3 Divison 18 team Conference

Ok how about an 18 team conference made up of 3 divisions:

All Coast Conference - The REAL ACC. All Coasts: Atlantic, Pacific, Gulf Coast and Lake Michigan.

Big Catholic Big East Big West

Seton Hall Uconn Houston
Providence Rutgers SMU
St Johns UCF Boise
Villanova USF BYU
Marquette Cinc SDSU
Depaul Temple/ECU Nevada

Basketball: Play everyone in your divison H & H then play one of the other divisons every other year for 16 game league schedule. 3 Home and 3 away.

Big East Tournament: Top two seeds each divison get a bye into the BET. On Monday seed 3 plays 6 at home as does 4 & 5. Winners travel to MSG on Wed for a 12 Team BET.

Football: Play everyone in divison plus 3 from the other division alternating every other year. Championship game at Yankee Stadium or home of highest ranked in BCS?

I've pimped this for years with a 22 game schedule. A huge scheduling arrangement. Assuming Nova for football

Classic BE: UConn, Seton Hall, Rutgers, St John's, Nova, Georgetown. (3 football)
Central: Marquette, Notre Dame, Cinci, Memphis, Depaul, Louisville (3 football)
South: UCF, USF, Houston, SMU, BYU, Nevada (All football)

I like the general idea but you are missing ND and G'Town. I would upgrade Nova and move them to the Big East division and then add another school to the west. Nevada wins hands down vs. ECU since it's a state flagship and we would need 2 more western teams to have 3 divisions of 7.

Football - agree with scheduling. Championship game needs to be a home game for the highest rated team (can be based on a number of factors....highest ranked team in BCS, league record, etc). This will ensure a large crowd - gate should be part of the league's overall revenue or better yet, split between the 2 participants. A neutral site will not work for the NBE, especially since the league will be East meets West.
