Does anyone know if this is the first time Uconn has 3 #1 ranked high school players (Lou,Meg an Christyn) playing at the same time?

It am pretty sure it has happened before but I am drawing a blank. I know there have been at least two these times...
Maya and Tina...
Kaleena, Stewie...

Lou and Meg.

For some reason I want to say with the Stewie and KML time... but I cannot recall who it would have been....

I do not believe so. I believe she was top 10. Didn't she go the same year as Hunter?
 
Was Diana #1??? I was thinking she was #2 behind Ashley Robinson (6-5P from Texas) who went to Tennessee??

Can you imagine the dynasty if EDD stayed at UConn and everything else stayed the same? 2012 Baylor team may have been only team to keep us from 8 straight NC's! Add Kalani Brown or Aja Wison and you're talking at least 10 straight! Wowzers!
But yeah, EDD with Tina and Maya, lol. Not even close to being competitive! Go Huskies!

Wow, that's a bunch. Any other program have that may #1 rated recruits? It's also illustrative that not all #1 ranked players are the same level.

Quite frankly probably everyone other than UConn fans would've completely given up and quit following women's hoops if UConn had won 10 straight Championships. That would've been the worst thing that could've possibly happened for the sport.

If Elena has stayed, we may have matched Tony’s 195-0 prediction, and EDD would have been the first to win 4 NCs.
 
I believe it’s happened twice at Uconn before Maya, Tina, Charde, and Maya, Tina, EDD, but that group never played a game together. Walker, Williams, Jones would be 3#1 players in a row.

In 1996 Shea Ralph was the USA Today National Player of the Year. You could say then that we had three #1s in 2001: Ralph, T. Williams and Taurasi. For that matter, if Abrosimova played high school in the United States one wonders where she might have been ranked.

Almost sounds to go to be true, but this is Uconn. I feel good about Jones, when was the last time a number 1 player in her class that was from California didn’t pick Uconn? Since Diana there has only been 2 seasons that Uconn didn’t have a California girl on the roster.

There is a chance Jones will not be the number one player in the country at the end of the season. However, if she commits this month, she will be the number one player at the time of her commitment. Would that count?

I've always figured nobody is ever going to do what Wooden did, but I guess it was a near miss for UConn and Geno. 6 in 8 years isn't too bad.

In many of these years, UCONN had players who were #2 or #3 overall recruits too. IIRC, Cash was the #2 recruit after Williams, Jefferson was #2 after Stewart, Dangerfield #3 in 2016, possibly others from way back.

Interesting notes:
-UCONN has only won titles while having 2 #1 recruits/HS POYs on the roster. UCONN has never won with 1, and they lost with 3 HS POYs in 2001 and 2008.

-Assuming no transfers, UCONN will have at least 3 more years of two top recruits on the roster with Walker/Williams.

-This year with be the 28th straight having a former #1 recruit or HS POY on the roster.

-UCONN would've had 2 HS POYs on the roster every year from 1999-2016 if EDD didn't transfer and if Hunter picked UCONN from the get go.

-The last time UCONN didn't have a #1/HS POY on the roster was in 1991, which was actually the year of Geno's 1st Final Four, and well before 99% of us knew anything about Connecticut basketball.

-The only person who has ever came close to stockpiling this type of talent was Pat Summitt, but she only landed a handful of #1s despite regularly landing kids that were 1st team Parade All Americans or top 5 recruits.
