I want to watch the HS girl play here to see how she's acclimated...not that it has a direct correlation to Saylor but similar circumstance...
 
UCLA has jumped on Washington State early, 11-2.
 
Game of streaks. 11-0 UCLA to start, WSU tied it at 13, then 7-0 run by UCLA to end the quarter.
 
Basketball is a game of runs...and that is true in this one. After Washington State went on a 7-0 run to tie the game, UCLA closed the 1st quarter on a 7-0 run of its own. 20-13, Bruins.
 
Only 5 FG made between the two teams in the 2nd stanza. UCLA up 10.
 
UCLA got a bucket to start Q2, then was stuck at 22 seemingly forever. Then got to 30 in the blink of an eye.
 
The bubble has proverbially burst for the 'Cougs as they had a very short lived visit to the Top 25. Their next games will be against the cream of the league and they may only be favored in 2 of them...

They've already won enough games to stay well clear of the cellar, still a huge job of overachieving for the team picked to finish 11th. Especially after losing Bobbi Buckets and Molina #1, no reason to think they would be even slightly competitive before the season started. I tip my cap to them.
 
Chou seems to be really finding her game lately. I think had a career high 28 or so last outing, 9 at the half today.
 
The Leger-Walkers shooting a combined 4-25.

Here come the Cougs. Cut a 13 point deficit down to 2!
 
What can you say about these Cougs? They had no business getting back in this game, but they did it.
 
Back and forth, trading buckets. Gonna be a heartbreaker for whoever loses.
 
66-63 UCLA, shooting FTs, 2.5 sec. left. I don't think there's any way WSU can pull this out.
