Ummm yeah that was a problem. There is essentially no parking in I lot now that the arena construction is taking place. I parked between softball field and outdoor football practice fields. Hopefully on weekends won’t be a problem since many students will be off campus…but man it was not good for yesterdays game at all

Can we park in the I lot?? where are fans parking?

Won’t be good this weekend either… Softball home on Friday & Sunday @ essentially same times (Sunday is @ noon tho’ so D Lot might already be crowded/full). South Garage is probably best option.

Rhode Island year in and year out usually has a solid baseball team, one of the best in New England, which is one of the reasons UConn plays the Rams multiple times every season. For instance, last season they had an RPI of 75. In the past these have been competitive games. Well, this season Rhode Island baseball has taken a big fall. They have a 2-17 record with an RPI of 246. Ouch, that is a big downer for Rhode Island baseball.

The problem is we have too many series where anything less than a sweep is a disaster. And now this is another one of them.

They were anything but impressive in the fall. It was a stark contrast to what i remember seeing last spring. I was surprised when I saw their record but not shocked. And looking at their stats it’s across the board pitching and hitting
That is really struggling

I parked in South lot. It was the first time I had ever paid for parking going to a UConn Baseball game in Storrs.

Friday's series opener will be the 200th game between Rhode Island and Connecticut. (UConn leads the series 116-79-4)

Probable Starters:

GM1: RHP Ryan Andrade (URI) vs. RHP Austin Peterson
GM2: Domenic Picone (URI) vs. RHP Pat Gallagher
GM3: LHP Trystan Levesque (URI) vs. RHP Enzo Stefanoni

Man, Stafanoni is only THIRD in the nation with a 32:1 strikeout to walk ratio?

Chris Brown in the lineup again after a solid game in the midweek. Coach Penders continues his practice of position starters at the D.H. spot when they don't play the field with David Smith at D.H. today.

Chris Jones says that Rhode Island has had a bunch of injuries to their team, partially accounting for their poor record so far this season.

Top 2nd, after 2 strikeouts, Rhode Island with a 2 out solo homer off of Peterson to make the score 3-1 UConn.

Bottom 2nd, UConn leaves a couple runners on base. 3-1 UConn.

With a name like Andrade ... I am thinking he is related to PGA golfer Billy Andrade. No easily found link in a quick google; however I had to laugh at this in Billy's wiki ... "Unusual for a professional golfer, he is also a Democrat." Huh. Why would that be in wikipedia?

.-.
Top 3rd, a scoreless inning for Peterson, he has 5 strikeouts on the day, and has thrown 50 pitches.
