That’s our record in the final 4 games of the regular season in the last 6 years, going back to the run Christian Vital, et al, ended on. The one loss was by 2 at Creighton in 2022.

Other than last year, all of our regular seasons had pretty bumpy midsections, but we closed strong every time to go into the postseason on an upswing (the Creighton loss snapped a 5-game win streak and then we won our finale to end 6-1 in our last 7).

Remains to be seen what happens next and if it carries over for us this year, but this staff always seems to have us as ready as you can hope for when survive and advance season comes.

Great point. I had posted we essentially had 4 losses this season in the USA - the 2 inexplicable losses to Villanova and Seton Hall.

People just don’t see us coming…

I don't think it's that hard to spell the names of 12 players who you root for and spend an inordinate amount of time on the message board of that team, but after the last 2 seasons I'm starting to understand it must be.

there is absolutely no reason to discount the losses in Hawaii.

I'm still not sure what this team is capable of doing. Do they pass the eye test? We all see the defensive lapses, but they've looked better the last few games. The lack of depth at the point.

Though we're starting to see improved offense execution now that they're running more attacking the paint offense, especially off of mismatches.

I think they can get to the BET final, and maybe they have learned something to beat SJU, something they haven't been able to do. They are vulnerable against teams that are tough with on the ball pressure and active rebounding.

As for the NCAA, it will probably come down to matchups. If they don't face tough defensive pressure teams, the path is manageable. But if the committee puts pressure D teams in our path, it could result in a not so desirable outcome.

I'm hopeful.

In 1990 I was lamenting the fact we had to face Georgetown in the Semi and probably Syracuse in the Final of the Big East when my friend said the words we should all remember this time of year:
"Just take them one at a time and don't look ahead".
Worked then and has many other times since..........but don't we all still do it?
