Stanford has the next active Streak of 8 Straight ND has a streak of 6 straight Sweet 16's.

Lady Vols had a streak of 26 Straight Sweet 16's.

An Amazing Accomplishment in this day of more competitive Women BB Teams.

I would think Geno would have a chance of tying or beating the Lady Vols record.

I like our chances for 4 more, with Stewie, Moriah, and Morgan here for 1 more. And maybe Morgan for 2 more.

From Christine Brennan:

"If the women's basketball naysayers needed proof, here it was: two smart, physical teams playing a brand of basketball that while it's not above the rim, and never will be, should appeal to almost anyone. The teams are led by daughters of Title IX, both Frese and Banghart born in the 1970s, women coaching women, which is increasingly as it should be if we are to show our daughters all the possibilities inherent in sports, including leading them."

As it should be? Does she own the domain name "Fire Geno.Com?"

And then there's this:

"Thankfully, no one used the antiquated and ridiculous adjective "Lady" before the nicknames Terrapins and Tigers. Had they tried, these players would have laughed them out of the gym."

Christine co wrote Pat's Book and is no fan of Geno.

I was wrong last night when I wrote that Christine Brennan co wrote Pat's book, that was Sally Jenkins not Chrstine Didn't realize the mistake until after I had shut down the computer and gone to bed. :)

The active streaks:

-22 straight regional semifinals trips
- 22 straight seasons winning at least 25 games
-22 straight seasons with a finish in the top 10 of the final poll. This one might be the most amazing.
- finally, all of these active streaks happened after the 1992-93 season ended for UConn with a loss to Louisville in the very first round. It was also the last time UConn has lost two games in a row.

It is an extraordinary run of consistency for Geno starting with the 1993-94 season.
