she played well this past summer... even with charles there... she won best post player... and geno recognized her ability to dominate and only one on the team who can dominate...

Uhh she played well this summer that is certain. The the part about her being the best post player is quite questionable though, and the numbers prove it. Tina shot at a higher percentage and scored more than Brittney. She also had more rebounds and led the team in that category as well. And let us not forgot who was eating who's lunch the last time the two played Tina's senior year in the Final Four.

funny thing how there's no ogwumike... or delle donne...

i guess they aren't really the best college players of the year...

griner is a phenom... and would be the first college player since 1988's olympic team..if she does make it.

Not being a finalist has nothing to do with being the best WCBB player this year. Griner is a unique talent. Being unique may or may not mean she is the best in college this year. Both EDD and Nneka have great players with more international experience ahead of them at the positions they play. That is not an unimportant thing in Olympic play.

Tina averaged 2 more points and .8 more rebounds but averaged 7 more minutes a game. BG also had 10 blocks to Tina's 3. And this was BG's first int'l experience. BG also got to the line twice as many times as Tina and shot 80% from the FT line. She was drawing more fouls from the opposing players.

And surely you are not comparing the freshman BG to the one we see today.

BOTH are tremendous players and will be a dynamic duo for many years. But with those stats I can't see how everyone considers Tina a lock and Griner a "probable."
