This is a tough one. If Akok is back to his old self I feel like he has to start. However Sanogo and Whaley are very deserving starters. Cole will start as well. Maybe Gaffney? Martin? Maybe Hawkins by mid yr at the 2? Jackson at the 3? I love that this is a problem. Curious what others opinions are.

Gun to my head I think to start the yr:
Cole
Martin
Jackson
Whaley
Sanogo

Mid yr
Cole
Hawkins
Jackson
Akok
Sanogo

First lineup will find it difficult to score when comp increases. We really need Martin to be able to create his own shot off the bounce. Should be AJ but have to see it first. Our inside play will be top notch. We need to be able to sub in quality. Need advantage when Gaff comes in. Both teams subs on floor we need advantage.

Crazy how only 33% of these projections have a guy who went 10 and 7 last season. (Sorry @MDHuskFan, didn’t include your lineup in my count, haha).

Anyone who doesn’t have Sanogo in the lineup is a moron
Does that include benching him when he's scoring at will?
In any case, where are the shooters? Who did we bring in that can stretch the defense?

Game 1
Cole
Gaffney
Martin
Whaley
Sanogo

What I hope for by mid January
Cole
Hawkins
Jackson
Akok
Sanogo

jalen
gaff
jmoney
gaffney
zendaya (ya know, to hold up the national championship trophy after we win the title. good pr and all that. plus, her hair skills are off the charts. a highly undervalued talent)

Rewatching last season’s game vs Providence at home. There’s a lineup used towards the end of the first half of Cole, Bouknight, Jackson, Martin, Akok. So much versatility and athleticism with that group. It only lasted a few minutes before Andre was called for a foul on this incredible block! @25:09

Polley came in for Jackson after the foul so we didn’t go much bigger. This makes me excited for lineups that look like Cole, Hawkins, Jackson, Martin, Akok.

Edit: Whaley came in for Akok on the same foul so we did go bigger.

I think I would go with

RJ Cole
Tyrese Martin
Andre Jackson
Akok Akok
Adama Sanogo

And we will have to see how the freshmen play to see who will start later on in the season

Not Dan Hurley’s finest moments from this past season

What you're looking for is "coaching malpractice". He deserves a fine for thst SJU game.

Learned his lesson though. It was a turning point.
