A 6-1 F out of France, Kathy-Emma Otto is now following and being followed by Coach Valley on social media.

Otto recently won the MVP of the Basketball Without Borders camp, and was the MVP of the 2024 FIBA EuroBasket.

There is some uncertainly of her class but it appears to be 2028. She turned 17 in April.

.-.
Clearly an intense defender with great shot blocking ability and anticipation.......does she have an offensive game?

Kathy-Emma Otto, 18years old ( born: April 1,2008) was the MVP of the
Fiba U 16 WOMEN'S EUROBASKET. She was also on the WORLD
TEAM for the NIKE HOOP SUMMIT with Jovana Popovic and Olivia Vukoso.
The recent question about her WINGSPAN.... 6'10"??? is partially
answered by watching this highlight tape entitled: BEST OF KATHY-EMMA
OTTO. The game is France vs Finland. This is the game that clinched her MVP award at the 2024 Eurobasket. The highlight video is also on her UCONN RECRUITING PAGE if you scroll down a bit (thread #4). NOTE the numerous tips, steals, blocks, her footwork and her speed running the floor. She also hits a nice three
pointer. Her Jersey Number is 17 and the announcer makes her name sound
like OKEKE. Also on this U 16 French team is another member of the NIKE HOOP SUMMIT "World" team...the French PG, Emma Broliron (who was clearly outshone by JOVANA!),
Any room at UCONN for an athletic MVP, 6'2", with a wingspan of
6'10"??? I know that she did not do well at the HOOP SUMMIT (19 minutes,
1/5 shooting but.... everyone can have a bad game playing against those
USA all-stars!!!). Just an idea.... anyone out there with more info about
KATHY-EMMA??
Addendum: Also watch the highlight video (above: thread post #2) of
the FIBA U18 women's EUROBASKET of France vs Italy. Kathy-EMMA
with 3 blocks, 5 steals, and finishing after a full court sprint. I wish that she
would grow an extra 2 inches, but those long arms will be a surprise for
many UCONN opponents!

As much as Sara blocks shots, UConn hasn't had that kind of rim protector since ONO........that's the kind of defensive game changer UConn needs to compete against South Carolina and other major competitors.....
More Kathy-Emma Otto info: 2024 FIBA WOMEN's EUROBASKET "ALL -STAR 5" /MVP
and at the 2025 "BWB Europe 2025 /"WOMEN" == BWB ALL STAR and 2025 BWB MVP. Kathy-Emma also played on France's 2023 FIBA U 16 Women's European
Championships playing in 6 games. Her best year was 2024 with a tournament
efficiency of 20.4
Update: Kathy-Emma Otto is a starter on the Centre Federal BB Paris
WBB team. The team is in "Ligue 2, women" which is in the second tier of
French BB (meaning players who can be Professional or Semi-Professional). The
league plays from Sept to April and the Finals will be April 17th (?).
South Carolina's Tournebize was formerly on the roster with OTTO. However
this year the team had 4 wins and 31 losses (my count) and the team may
be "relegated" to Ligue 1 (LFB being the highest level). Each year in the league Otto's stats have improved. For 2025 - 2026 she played in 22 games, with over 25 minutes a game: 7.8 ppg, 8.7 rb/g, 2.3 assists/g, 3.0 steals/g. Apparently (my guess) is that Otto and her PG teammate were at the NIKE HOOP SUMMIT this
year because their team DID NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. On the flip
side Kathy-Emma Otto has been on the French Youth teams for the
past 3 years with MVP individual honors in 2024 and 2025. FINIS Z
