Dave Benedict saved us by hiring Mora. He knew what he was getting. Mora did his job, and did it well. I still stand by the statement that DB did not lose any sleep over HCJM leaving. Lets leave it that Jim did a great job. We are in a good place and about to be better within 3 years if not 2.

I don’t think you understood what I said. I wasn’t complaining about what Mora did for us. He absolutely did resurrect the program. But all the signs were there that he was 1 foot out the door going back two summers. Just remember when he took all of the UConn stuff off the Jim Mora football camp that he was running andhe was never around during the off-season, his recruiting didn’t focus on recruiting to be sustainable going into next year. He had his core group of seniors that he was ride and die with. They were graduating and he didn’t do a really good job restocking the cupboard while going on radio silence over the last year.

Nowhere in that comment was I disparaging the work that he did only the fact that he was just waiting to have his contract in so he could leave.

I missed this stuff happening. I doubt AD Dave didn't notice. Coach Candle has way more college football experience and connections than Mora had when he came in. We are seeing that pay off.

Candle as erased all sadness and anger from Mora Leaving. He was a good spokesman for the program and revitalized a borderline dead program. Personally I'll continue to root for him at CSU.

Wow, an Ohio State player? Now, who would, 6 years ago, thought that someone who was on a national championship team, would join UConn football? If anyone told me that during the dark days of RE2.0, that UConn would get a Linebacker from the Buckeyes, I would say that I need your drugs!! 😀
