2026 roster needs

If Wilkins is on campus then I take it as Braylon may be going pro
Ehh…Wilkins is even less well equipped to be a 3 than Braylon. Both are 2s. Wilkins maybe a bit of PG.

We’d start a three G lineup of Wilkins Demary Ball, no sweat. Wilkins isn’t coming off the bench for anyone

Maybe you can find him 25 coming off the bench, then he's your starter next year. It's really about what the kids priorities are - but I would guess it's Mullins insurance primarily. No way we can add him to the mix with Mullins back.

That team would get wrecked. Couldn't guard anyone. Did anybody look at the size of the teams that were good this year? You want your SF to be closer to 6'8" than a skinny 6"4". Three guard lineups are a ticket to an early tournament exit.

I did. In fact one of the teams who was very good this year and made the national championship game was UConn, starting a 3 guard lineup

You’re off your rocker. Demary and Ball will both improve from this year. Soph Wilkins will be more productive than frosh Mullins was, and he’d provide the ball handling and shot creation we were missing. We’d be lucky to replace Mullins with Wilkins and our backcourt would be even better than it was this year.

In an ideal world, we don't have to intentionally slow the pace of the game down to a crawl to win games because we know we are outmanned. Everyone and their mother knew how we had to play to beat the more talented team - and it worked for a large part of that game. I think the pace is what took UM out of their 3 pt shooting flow, but you don't want to win like that routinely. You want to be the more talented team.

I agree on the talent piece, but it's not like playing slow was an outlier. We've played that way for Hurley's entire tenure, and it works very well

Problem now is out of 15 we had last season:

5 out of eligibility: AK, Tarris, Malachi, Alec, Dwayne
4 transfers out: Furphy, Uros, Rrezon, Reibe
2 recruits

We have at this point 8 players
Silas
Solo
Braylon
Jaylin
Jayden
Jacob R
Colben
Junior

What a strange comment. We were in the national championship game with a starting skinny 6'5 freshman at small forward who is more shooting guard than small forward.

Yes, with elite seniors at center and PF. We are downgrading at C and PF no matter who we bring in. Nobody as good as those guys is available. Our statistically best lineups all year came with either Ross or Stewart at the 3. I don't like our odds of trying to get to a final four again playing small. Doesn't mean we can't, but it's not a smart way to build the team.

Because we have Ross, Landrew, Stew, and possibly Mullins at the 3, need a starting 4, and this guy is like a stylistic clone of Karaban.
Right now we only have Ross, Demary, County and Landrew. We can't be sure the others are back until they officially return. Also, Landrew could play some 4 with his size.

Hopefully Stew will mostly be a 4, but I get the assumption here. If Khamenia is the 4 I would be even more concerned with playing small at the 3. Landrew would be a nice, physical complementary 3.

Khamenia could play a Karaban style stretch 4, no sweat.

Because he's a clone of Alex Karaban when you watch him play, and all the talk out of the staff has been reaching out to 4s and 5s. He's a perfect fit for us at the 4 with our guards and other wings
Maybe offensively but defensively he isn't protecting the rim like Alex did with his length.

That's not a good sign.
Yeah man. Stew waited 4 years for his opportunity. I’m sure he won’t be happy if we got his replacement after patiently waiting his turn and sacrificing.
