Over the last several days, the entire Texas coaching staff started following Oliviyah, her Mom, and her step-dad on Instagram; her step-dad followed them all back. Based on past similar scenarios, the coaching staff doesn't start following a recruit/transfer's family members unless an official visit has been scheduled or is taking place.

Edwards would be Vic's highest recruit he's ever landed. To be honest I think her and Crittendon might be overkill since they're very similar players but Texas is in dire need of depth after losing 3 projected starters + Harmon to the portal.

I was having similar thoughts as to how Oliviyah Edwards would fit in. If she's okay playing both Center and Power Forward, then I can see it. Perhaps she has some Lisa Leslie and Michelle Snow in her. Guess it all depends on which position she sees herself playing in college and in the pros.

I think Crittendon can play both PF and SF; but, with Booker back for one more season, not sure she'll see many minutes at small forward.

Joyce Isi Etute is the most intriguing of Texas' 2026 high school recruiting class (assuming she signs her LOI). She might be a bit short to play center, but she has the strength and size to be effective in a smaller, quicker lineup. I can also see her playing PF in a bigger lineup.

Based on that tweet that Edwards will take an official visit to South Carolina, she'd have to be willing to back up PF Joyce Edwards for the next two seasons. SC pretty stacked in the front court with Kloe Kitts returning, Adel Tac, and perhaps even Ashlyn Watkins.

Nah, those two play different positions even if they don't think so at the moment.

I didn't know anythign about Isi Etute, she looks good from the couple of clips I saw. Could fill in nicely for the void left by Carlton.

Oliviyah Edwards to South Carolina is soooo unnecessary lol but Dawn does love to stockpile front court players. Reminds me of when Cardoso joined the Gamecocks with Boston ahead of her for 2 years. It paid off great for Kamilla who was willing to be patient and resulted in 2 titles in 3 years.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with a coach trying to improve their roster especially when injuries are so prevalent now.

While I know that Edwards had South Carolina as one of her finalists before committing to Tennessee last Fall, she would need to work really hard to be a starter at SC her true freshman season based on their frontcourt depth chart. Future NIL is impacted a lot by how good a freshman season a player has; and, you can't accomplish that without seeing the court a bunch and making the most of your opportunities.

i can't fault SC for pursuing PG, SG or 4/5.

Watkins, Kitts, Tac, Andrews, Wynn are all injury concerns and you still have to develop Tournebize.

I'm not sure how you keep everyone happy if you took three players out of the portal though. Youngsters would need to be real patient, but maybe you can see Wynn and Andrews on rehabbing. Or maybe they'd transfer.

Ok, all you experts on Edwards out there, a random thought from 3 am. Would OE's skills fit at UConn?

From a Texas "insider", Oliviyah will be making an official visit to Texas.

She’d help UCONN but I see her on a more physical team that isn’t as structured or heavily focused on ball movement. Style of play is better suited for SEC IMO that’s more slashing/dribble drive oriented. Her choosing Tennessee initially and now being interested in SC/Louisville/Texas is probably an indication of that.

I hope she ends up here. Shed be a good fit and it would immensely soften the blow of losing Carlton. SC doesn’t need her and I don’t really care for Louisville.

Just a small question - what are all those trophies in the picture?

Just checked and they have four regular season (two tied and two outright) and 1 tournament championship since they got away from Uconn.

(Uconn would need a bigger court if they trotted out all of the 63 conference titles, 25 elite8 wins, and those other twelve trophies! Just realized a new record - a century of WCBB trophies!)

They hand out trophies for regional NCAA tournament winners so any time they've made the Final Four or better they'd have one (which Gemini suggests is four times).

Oliviyah posted a story on her Instagram page with some photos and vid clips of her official visit at Louisville. Jeff Walz fires his shot at Dawn. The last photo is of the video board at the football stadium, and it says "IT'S NOT (OH)VER, IT'S JUST GETTING STARTED" 🤣

It was in response to this I presume . . .

That's hilarious! With that said, supposedly through the SkimMilky grapevine, South Carolina is still the team to beat.

She was the recruit I wanted over all others from this class and we will have a lot of minutes to offer after Kitts and Watkins graduate. She would probably be used strategically as a freshman, then be the first big off the bench as a sophomore, and then be a starter for her junior and senior years.

If I were O Edwards, I’d think I would have a great opportunity to be the starting 5 at SC as a sophomore.

As a freshman, I’d be competing with Watkins (coming off injury), Tac (role player coming off injury) and Tournebize (spot player) and Andrews (lower rated recruit coming off multiple injuries)

Not a terrible playing time story.

—seems to me she would have ended it on Carolina’s campus if that was the destination though.

Or, maybe just doing her due diligence the second time around?

Looks like Oliviyah made three consecutive official visits to South Carolina, Louisville and now Texas today

Being a girl living in Washington, Oliviyah couldn't have picked a better weekend to visit Austin, TX as a cool front blew into town overnight lowering daytime highs from 90 on Friday to 59 on Saturday . . . 🥶

Perfect hoodie weather as she visits with Vic and former Seattle resident, Longhorns head football coach Steve Sarkisian, on the stadium football field during today's Spring game.

Let's be honest, is there anywhere Sarkisian hasn't been a resident of? Along w/ his former colleague Kiffin of course.

Ok hoop fans, here's one for you. Where do you think Edwards will land now that she's been released from TN? Who has the most to gain, and where can she be the most effective? If you picked "Other," feel free to give us your view on why it's a school outside of her final list.

Be nice, and have fun!
I hear L'ville may be in the running and that would be a good fit. That could vault them near the top 10.
