2026 New York Giants

On all candor, if Daboll was still head coach I would be furious as the only takeaway would be that we keep drafting the same thing, ignoring quite a few very weak spots in the lineup.

That we do have an adult in charge (Harbaugh), who has a pretty sound track record, I like the idea that we are adding talent as there is now a chance that we can also develop the talent.

We're going to have to be able to turn both Reese and Carter into LB's (instead of just pass rushers), or we will need to sell low so to speak on likely Carter and Thibodeaux in the near future.

I'm glad that we didn't grab a WR (as was rumored) as I don't believe we're in a position where we need a top five pick (Nabors) and a top five or top ten pick at WR. Also there are a lot of WR's in this draft and they claim many who will end up between 50-75 in this draft would be just outside the first round in many years.
There is a less then zero chance they're trading Carter after the rookie year he had. 31 teams would be lining up to take him. Sounds like the plan is to keep Thibodeaux and play Reese at LB though so the defense should be really good.

Wouldn't have hated taking Downs over Mauigoa but they took the best talent available to fill a clear hole on the offensive line so it makes sense. And the defense should get a big boost tonight when the presumably take a DT at 37

I wanted Reese over Bailey. I think he could be very Micah Parsons-like. The G's are doing everything right the last couple drafts and if Nabers comes back healthy and dangerous, this team is on the upswing for sure.

I absolutely hate that the Giants have only 1 pick today, which is my favorite day of the draft, day 2. Gotta go wr, safety or Dline.

Hoping the safety from Toledo drops into our laps then Skylar!!
Would love that unfortunately it's most likely going to have to be 1 out of the 2. Both are trade up candidates.

Harbaugh talked about positionless defenders (front 7). Arvell Reese will be playing ILB and will moved around the formation. I did wonder myself how he would get on the field with Thibodeaux, Burns, who got a massive contract, and Abdul Carter, who they used the #3 overall pick on last year.

I am just crossing my fingers that Francis Mauigoa's herniated disk in his back gets solved soon and doesn't derail his training camp and season. He will be playing RG.

Likewise, I am hoping Nabers will be fully recovered and back at the peak of his skills along with Skatebo. Nabers is the Giants most skilled player on offense with his playmaking and top end speed.

My wish list in order

Kayden McDonald
Denzel Boston
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Aveion Terrell
Colton Hood

I want McCoy if he’s there
I thought about putting him instead of Hood, not sure how much I love the idea of drafting a CB who will miss his whole rookie year though. He's very good though so it's a worthwhile gamble

Ah I didn’t see that new injury update. What a huge bummer for him. He’s an elite talent. Good thing is he’s still young for a draftee, hopefully he can get back close to where he was

I guess it's not confirmed, but the rumor was teams were concerned with the knee repair and think he'll need another surgery which would put him out for the year

I mean he has fallen an incredible amount, it must be pretty serious. I’d love to get him or Bell in the 4th selfishly. Do you know much about the WR we got?

Dexter saw a sinking ship and wanted off.
Schoen is a loser.
The Giants have spent 3 1st round draft choices and a 2nd round draft choice and millions of dollars on the same position, edge rusher, and continue to lose. They drafted Evan Neal and Thibodeaux, two years later Reese and Mauigoa, same draft. Reese, Thibodeaux, Carter, Burns play the same position.
They could have had a defensive front line of Burns, Mason Graham, Dexter Lawrence and Thibodeaux last year that would have stopped the run. They could have added Delane and Downs and McDonald this year.
Instead they have journeyman tackles, a new corner with a bad knee at corner and journeyman defensive backs.
Mauigoa drops to 10 because everyone heard about disc issues. They want to switch him to guard, bad back and all. Why not draft the healthy future all pro guard from Penn State if you wanted a guard?.
TACKLE No. 10 Mauigoa will compete with former No.5 TACKLE Evan Neal for guard position, enough said..

Don't know a ton about him. Looks like he has good size but not great speed. They must have seen something they've liked but I don't really get moving up for him personally. Steep price when you don't pick until round 6 now

Where is all the trade talk about Thibideaux? AI slop?

If we can add OBJ and DJ Reader like has been rumored I think this is a team we can enjoy watching this year

So happy for Skylar Bell. He is the type of receiver Buffalo likes and has a top QB tossing to him. I will be following him!

As an annual rite of passage, I have convinced myself this Giants roster is good enough to compete for a playoff spot. They'll probably fall short and end up at 8 wins, but I think this team can actually be good. The roster has some really solid depth now

Draft was good, Free Agency has been good as well. Worried about the weapons if Nabers/Skatt aren’t fully healthy, but I like Fields and I really like the Mooney signing.

Yeah I'm still holding out hope they add 1 more receiver but seems like they're content with what they have. The OBJ rumors seem to have died down, although I'm not sure what he has left anyway.

Seems like it'll be Nabers, Mooney, Fields, Slayton, Austin, Olszewski as the 6 right now. Would feel a lot better with Austin as the return specialist a guy with some upside replacing Olszewski though

Agreed completely. I don’t remember ever seeing Olszewski make a man miss on a return/gain more than 9 yards.

I want no part of OBJ. He's a clown and he's been a washed up clown for years.

.-.
Washed up, sure. Don’t share the opinion he’s a clown. There are reasons that make sense to bring him in for camp.
Giants should be looking to the future, not to the past. He's still an immature clown.

Do not remotely agree with the clown part. Washed up sure, but even a washed up OBJ is better than the bottom of the roster WRs

Yeah he's really grown up and doesn't act like a clown.

Not sure why I would care about a video from 2 and a half years ago. And the context around the video also didn't exactly make OBJ look like the bad guy when that came out

How on earth did the context not make him look like the bad guy? The entitlement to shut down a commercial airplane and to make everyone deplane while hurling insults at passengers and bragging about how much money you have while you ruined everyone else's travel plans is as childish and clownish as it gets. The guy has always been a clown and now his on the field ability is gone.

That was 4 years ago lol. Some vendetta you have. If they sign him, don’t root for him for all anyone cares.
A tiger doesn't change his stripes. I'm with SJ on this one. Time to move on.

Don’t mind agreeing to disagree, I like the guy and I think he can be a good locker room presence. Plus, seems like he has gotten sign offs from some of our most important players.

i will just add that Harbaugh thinks highly of him as a veteran presence in the locker room. If his workouts show he’s got something left and the money works out they will sign him

In the criticism of OJB people are forgetting you have to be half crazy to be playing this gladitorial violent sport to begin with. There is nothing normal about grown men dressing up in hard plastic armour and pounding each other into surgeries on a routine basis. Growing up football was my favorite sport. But by the time you get to high school and put on your armour and start pounding on each other, being trained to commit maximum violence in a crowed space, getting concussions and broken bones, you realize that football is for nut cases. It sure is fun to watch these nutjobs maim each other on television though.

I would be good with signing OBJ, he's older now and he did win a Super Bowl. He has played under Harbaugh, just be a leader and get Nabors to shape up. Btw not cool for Nabors to stream and trash the Giants draft picks.
