2026 Elite Eight - Saturday

What's wrong with that? What's the point being in a conference if you don't root for your conference mates against out of conference opponents? When your conference mates play well, it makes the conference look good, and make your team look good.

For a conference like the Big East, it is even more reason to root for conference mates when playing against conferences that have more money etc.

UConn will have to win the Big Ten championship this year if we want to win it all.
Nothing. I was one of the only voices who was rooting for st johns. There was a whole back and forth on it. But only for big east exposure, because we need it. Big ten doesnt need help. And it never will. Huge difference. I didnt root for cuse in 2003 when BE was up

Arizona looks like an absolute buzz saw…We could shoot lights out and hang with them but they are deep, physical and talented. They look like the team to beat right now similar to what UConn looked like in 2023/24

They are good but Purdue is like UConn lite IMO. Zona shut down TKR a lot because he can’t shoot outside of five feet. They gave him a ton of space above the foul line and he couldn’t do anything against Peat on his drives. If UConn plays Zona, and Zona doesn’t bring Peat out Karaban will just take the three.

Loyer was also missing in action - like always against any decent team.

That said them vs Michigan (assuming) will be a battle downlow. Michigan matches and one ups Zonas bigs.

They have been living off the fumes of lute Olsen forever.
Miller had some really good teams. 30+ wins at least 3 times. Never quite got over the hump, but 3 Elite 8 appearances and two of the Regional Finals they lost by one possession. Including against UConn, with 2 shots in the last few seconds that rimmed out. Arizona controlled the Pac 12 for most of Miller's tenure, even with some really talented UCLA teams, and Oregon was pretty good too.

I've been chatting with my brother via text saying "If they hit 40% of their 3s, 80% of their FTs and stay out of foul trouble it should be doable.

But then we saw Arizona's entrance into the FF.

Sure, but when people try to argue UConn isn’t a blue blood they talk final fours and championships. Arizona probably has the same as unlv.

Took em in every one of my brackets. UM/AZ must watch - need to see it.

Do we honestly foul more than the other 7 teams? I find that really hard to believe. It's b/c fouls hardly ever get called on our opponents for the same violations.
Do you believe that it's not just big east refs who are in a conspiracy against us, but actually all refs nationally are conspiring against us?

We really need to beat Duke tomorrow. Our players are more experienced, Duke players are young albeit very talented. If we play defense and make 3s, we should win.

Danny should call Pitino today and get all the scouting report for tomorrow.

If we beat Duke, I like our chances. All the other teams have to beat UConn. We are still the most recent national champs left in the tournament.

I'm an Arizona fan, and I never thought they got into the category of blue bloods.

Barkley said only one UConn player on this team was on the championship team. And they all agreed. I'm convinced all these guys are talking out of their asses.
Barkley and Kenny are NBA guys so whatever. The one I’m really disappointed in is Kellogg. He’s fallen off of a cliff in recent years, like he’s hemorrhaging college basketball IQ just being surrounded by these clowns. No longer bothering to put in the work/effort.

Purdue made it farther than I thought they would so I won’t clown them, especially for losing against the team they were supposed to lose to

But this is the 4th year in a row that they lost because they just couldn’t match up physically. Two of those 4 were curb stomps and one was against a 16 seed

Gotta start getting some athletes

They're not a blueblood yet - only one NC to date and this is their 5th FF all-time. But they've consistently been one of the best teams out west in the last 35-40 years or so. Been a high seed many times in the tourney, yet have gotten knocked out in the regionals multiple times. A couple natties under this new coach and they'll be closer to blueblood status.
