Whoa, whoa, whoa, y'all have both been ranked this season, and made the Elite Eight or better last season. We haven't tasted either the rankings or the Tournament since 2023...
Also, mostly I just found it funny because as soon as I saw the jerseys, I thought, "huh, weird, SCAR colors," so it was especially funny to see your post that followed it.

South Carolina uses a more vibrant color of red (i.e. garnet). I don't associate these colors with the "dominant" Carolina in women's basketball. 😜 I think like others have said that Texas A&M or even Mississippi State are closer matches

The red in question for these jerseys may be associated with one of the main sponsors for the team. CIBC use two versions of red for their logos and branding. Ironically, they are very similar to Texas A&M and Miss State.
- CIBC Claret (a darker burgundy): This color is used for broad color blocks and represents the bank's history.
- CIBC Accent Red (a brighter red): This color is used for headlines, illustrations, and as a more dynamic visual cue, representing forward-looking ambitions.

So if I understand things, the new proposed bottom salary was $1 million and caps at $5 million with about 15% revenue share? I honestly think those are good numbers for the bottom of the league even with the possibility that their wages don't scale with the revenue. That would have the rookies and lower paid players taking a much larger piece of the WNBA pie than the bottom paid players in the NBA taking from the NBA pie, so they should still be fairly compensated as their % of revenue decreases with each year until the next CBA. OTOH I think the top players would be fairly compensated in year 1 but quickly become underpaid if the WNBA expansion continues as expected. The top 1% of players are the catalyst for bringing in 90% of the league revenue, so they definitely need to scale with the league to be fairly compensated.Starting to get serious?

I had a different take, but it could be how I'm interpreting this part. My understanding was the new model increased the cap to $ 5M, making the average salary around $410K.
The players association, officers and league stars are to be commended for talking the long term view in negotiations. The impact of revenue sharing and it's benefits to players in the NBA is clear.

Yes, they've offered to increase the cap from $ 1.5M that had been proposed. The WNBA also offered a max base salary of $ 1M. Here's the exact wording from the article:
"Earlier this month a WNBA proposal included a $1 million max base salary, according to multiple sources familiar with negotiations. In addition, the league proposed a revenue-sharing model that would give players 50% of a revenue metric that would not include all revenue and would have some expenses deducted. Under this proposed model, players would end up receiving less than 15% of the league’s total revenue, these same sources said.
The salary cap would increase from $1.5 million to $5 million under the league’s latest proposal, bringing the average salary to about $417,000. Projected earnings with the league’s proposed revenue-sharing model factored in would push the average to more than $500,000 and the max over $1.2 million."
Since this article, the salaries and cap number have increased I believe.

I have to say that this senior class has been kind of disappointing. Besides Awa Fam and Olivia Miles (and even then both are not home runs), I don't really see any bonafide stars that you can build a team around, so I am starting to feel like all teams, including lottery teams, should focus on finding great role players instead of all-around great players. Talaysia Cooper is a name to look out for. If she were to forego her senior year, I think she would have a great chance of becoming a lottery pick.
This is kind of how I'm feeling about the best available prospects. Flau'jae has been as high as #3 on my list but I think we have some serious concerns with her processing speeds and basketball IQ. Like Barker, she has all the physical tools but there is just something missing in the basketball smarts.
My current best available prospects lists:

4. Lauren Betts
5. Ta'niya Latson
6. Flau'jae Johnson
7. Gabriela Jaques
8. Gianna Kneepkens

I'm coming around on Raven as a top ten pick. If she sustains 40% for the year from three and convinces FO's it is legit, I think she's there comfortably.

I mostly put her in the top 10 because she is one of the best defensive guards in this draft and she has more basketball smarts that some other prospects. I think teams know that she isn't starter material but that she would make a productive career being a backup PG. Outside the top 5-6 prospects, I don't see any starter potential, so I think teams will focus on players like Raven that have very niche skills that can elevate a team.

Not good. So basically, both sides are going to continue doing what they have been doing since the beginning. Not good especially in terms of timing for the off-season of things like free agency, expansion draft, and the season.

Apparently the WNBA notified teams that they weren't going to place a moratorium on free agency. Will be interesting to see if teams make qualifying offers.

Yeah, that is going to be interesting because teams can technically offer a contract, but players probably won't sign any offer while the new salary process is being worked out.

Yeah, nothing like signing a supermax contract for something like 230k and then finding out the new max is a million or more.
For the super max caliber players, I'm sure the lawyers could write a contract where it is super max as eventually negotiated. Its the journeyman players in the middle where it will be impossible because neither side knows what the landscape will be..
