Caleb Burton III is a 5-11 175b WR from Austin Texas attending Auburn University (Transfer Portal w/ two seasons of eligibility remaining).

My friends, I have watched this kid in HS. He has caused much stress and heartache among opposing coaches here in Austin. I'm gonna try my best to not be hyperbolic, but he might be our best WR in a very long time. We have such a stacked WR room with him, Bell, and Porter.

Next year, our skill positions might be the deepest ever and we have a ton of P4 transfers into our defense. The bowl game was only a week or so ago. I already can't wait for next season!

By all means, feel free to hyperbolic... it's my favorite type of bolic...

Awesome! WR’s don’t come unless they have someone to throw to them. Between this and Bell staying, feels like we may get see a different style of offense!
Or a better version of the same style. Either way, I'm good with it...

Wow! Fantastic pick up by the staff.

So, he was the best receiver in Austin and like 2nd or 3rd best receiver in TX his senior year (2022). Top 10 WR nationally. Has UConn ever had a player rated this high during his HS days? (According to 247, it's not even close.) Pretty much all Austin area coaches thought he was NFL bound. He has speed, elusiveness, good hands, large catch radius, great route running, all around great instincts. We have some good HS players here in Austin and Caleb make them look silly and/or like little kids. The only reason he's not a universal 5-star in HS was because of his size 5'11" 170 ish lbs. But he plays much bigger than his size.

Skyler Bell's greatest trait is his exceptional route running. He knows when to speed up or slow down to gain separation. I think he knows where to be better than the QB at times. Caleb should be just as good if not better than Bell here and that's really saying something.

This is a big, big, big deal! Get excited folks!

please qb's wake the funk up and put the ball in these boys' chest. Heck - lodge it IN their chests.
let's go.

He followed Garrett Wilson from Lake Travis High to Ohio State. Hopefully can regain that path in National Flag blue and white

Hugs pickup for us. Now we just need a QB that can throw to him and Bell next year. I am still hoping we land a portal QB just in case our current QBs can't execute.

I'd like to believe a QB solution is in place which lured Bell back to the team and getting P4 WR transfers in to the program.

You'd think so. I hope that guy is Welliver but we really need to bring someone else in too

Maybe, but I'm hoping there is a more proven thrower coming to Storrs.

At the risk of taking this thread off-topic, something I know we would never do here on the Boneyard, there was something mentioned a day or two ago on Storrscentral.

What they're doing over there at Storrscentral -- it's working. Look at roster now. We've completely rebuilt our defense with P4 players. We've added high end offensive pieces from SEC schools. We fought off still-current national champion Michigan from poaching our stud WR. It's working. This is what momentum looks like. None of these sentences could've been true the previous season.

I don't look at it like a subscription fee (which is a minuscule $10 a month). I look at it as a regular donation to fund the athletes that fight and bleed for my favorite team. I spend way more than my donation on clothing and event tickets than I do on Storrscentral. None of those fees goes to the students though (at least not yet).

I think people love seeing their money going somewhere and doing something. It's hard to say that our NIL isn't working. We just stole a super high-end play maker from Auburn, the best WR I've seen live in recent memory here in Austin. So please, if you haven't already, add to our NIL pool. Imagine how many more players we can add if our NIL budget wasn't 1/10 the size of B1G or $EC schools.
