2025 Nutmeg Classic - November 28-29 @ Toscano Family Ice Forum

From Dom Amore’s Sunday column in the Courant today:

-> *It can fall under the radar because of the time of year, but Connecticut has become an epicenter for women’s hockey at all levels. Quinnipiac (7), UConn (8) and Yale (14) are all ranked. All three, and Sacred Heart, will all be in Storrs next weekend for the Nutmeg Classic. UConn vs. Quinnipiac starts off the tournament Friday at 3 p.m., the championship game Saturday at 6:30 at Toscano Family Ice Pavilion. Quinnipiac’s Kahlen LaMarche is leading NCAA D-1 with 19 goals in 14 games.<-

Like the men’s team last year they finally cleared the quinnipiac hurdle. Will likely face Yale who’s ranked too.

Considering the same team beat them 3-0 in the first game of the season this is pretty awesome. Indicates solid progress.
"First" game was a preseason exhibition. Nolo Contendere

Great night for Hockey East women: UConn, Northeastern, BC, Vermont and Maine all win over out-of-conference opponents.

Wide open game. I can see some anticipation of the rule change on checking. They don't seem to be waiting around for it to happen. Nothing blatant but the board work is more physical and the refs are letting it go.

I said to Dorothy, "great move changing up and getting some legs out there", at which point Pelly takes the puck, skates around the Yale D and puts it in the net. Astounding.

Once again Tia Chan was playing for UConn and not the opponent. There seems to be a correlation

Helluva game
