They likely need it to get in. Their overall resume is so underwhelming that I do think they need to grab two legit wins to punch a ticket.Xavier beats St John's in the semis.
It looked like some of the bracket guys have them as last four in but who knows what the committee will do. But yea, two more wins including one over a top 10 team should get them there. They likely need it to get in. If I'm a committee member and looking at their resume against some of the other bubble teams, I'm going to be underwhelmed given they have zero quality wins OOC, and losses to non tourney teams like Cinci & TCU. It's truly an awful OOC. Maybe they cut them some slack for Freemantle, but right now their bid hinges on splitting with the 2-4 teams in the BE and beating up on the crud. Not what I'd call compelling. If they can go on a run in the BET, maybe we can call them "hot" at the right time, with a healthy Freemantle. If they bow out early, I'm looking at them as just a team that got to play the BE crud on the back end of the season. It looked like some of the bracket guys have them as last four in but who knows what the committee will do. I hope you are correct. Because last year ticket prices tanked when the Jonnies tapped out. So hoping we make the final and they don't....again. Then it will be a sea of blue in the garden Saturday.this season has been up and down but I think we can win it. Hopefully our fans make the trip. It should be nice weather.
I don’t think St. John’s makes it to the final. It’ll be whoever wins the Xavier/Marquette game

Who would you put in ahead of them at the moment? If I'm a committee member and looking at their resume against some of the other bubble teams, I'm going to be underwhelmed given they have zero quality wins OOC, and losses to non tourney teams like Cinci & TCU. The back end of the bubble is so bad that they may default in, but they are at the mercy of any bid thieving of being out. 1-3 of those and they're on the outside. Right now they are fighting with Ohio St, UNC, Texas, Indiana, Oklahoma for the last 1-2 spots. An Ohio St type has a win at Kentucky, which goes miles deeper than anything Xavier has on their resume.Who would you put in ahead of them at the moment?
Let’s not overlook Nova (assuming they beat Seton Hall.)
Here's the plan: we get out to an early double digit lead Thursday and limit Hass' minutes to 20, we again get out quick Friday and limit Hass to 25 minutes, and then can play him up to 30 on Saturday. Then, it's either 4 or 5 days without a game.I'm really hoping the back to back games(assuming we win Thurs) don't have an adverse effect on Hassan's tendonitis for the big dance. Want to get to Saturday night desperately but have to wonder what 3 straight games will do to Hass, especially if the 3rd game is against the Johnnies. A game against them is even more stressful on a knee injury because of all their pressure D.
Oddly enough losing to Nova might drop UConn to a 10 in the NCAAT.Agree, but if we can’t beat Villanova we deserve to be an 8/9 seed playing Duke in the East.
And I'm not sure that's necessarily a bad thing. I'd just be concerned it's not enough to get us that far down - feels like we'd likely land on the 9 line, which does us absolutely no good at all.Oddly enough losing to Nova might drop UConn to a 10 in the NCAAT.
Yes - which tells you their ceiling sucks.Isn't Xavier something like 1-8 in Q1 games?
NoIs our game gonna be shown on Peacock?
