2025-26 New school commitments by Transfers

I just don't really get having Gardener and Brown. It's like when they had Dugalic and Barker

I don’t think they’re overly similar players, especially not knowing Gardiner’s form after missing the season. She largely shot threes her first season at UCLA and was much more than that at Oregon State, so whether they utilize her as more than a difficult shot to block will be interesting.

Brown reminds me a lot of Maggie Doogan, a unicorn style who can do it all but with some athleticism and size limitations (relatively speaking). She’s an excellent facilitator so they should have a lot of options.

Honestly the piece I’m most intrigued by is whether Sienna Betts gets buried a bit as a focal point.

I think they'll compliment each other well. Both can play inside and face up from the perimeter. Brown in particular is a great facilitator and should do well operating out of the high post offensively. If Gardiner is healthy I think they're both locks to start and would play at the 3/4, or we might even see Sienna Betts come off the bench in favor of these 2. It's a really nice front court trio to work with and a top 15 team IMO.

I think they've had a great off season, even despite losing Smikle. What do you think their starting lineup will be.
I hate having to play Agara in the post but it looks like that probably will be the case.

PG - Addi Mack
SG - Okananwa
SF - Trinity Jones
SF2 - Jordyn Jackson
Post - Agara

Bench - Bri McDaniel and Chloe Sotell

Not a lot of size. They do have two incoming freshmen that are 6'5" tall.

I'm trying to figure out Wisconsin. Seems like they are doing some things
I live in Madison and go to games pretty frequently and I cannot tell you how excited I am with Pingeton has been able to do in such a short amount of time. Madison is a great town, and Wisconsin has one of the best fan bases in the country! I'm not shocked that these players are wanting to come here.

Awesome to see. She did a great job in year 1.

Also, some might counter that many student athletes are excellent students. Well, if we're going to laud students for their academics, we should at least understand what we're praising. As someone who has taught college students for over two decades, I can tell you that owing to a myriad of factors I won't go into now, students enter college with much lower intellectual skill levels than they did when I went to college thirty years ago, and both rigor and workloads have gone down tremendously. When student-athletes--people who by default have comparatively limited time to spend on academics while in season--can transfer seamlessly from one school to another, it shows just how low the standards are at most higher ed institutions.

I will just add that Timea Gardiner's last season was hampered by an injury that resulted in surgery and a one year layoff (her lateral movement was pretty much nonexistent). Her style of play in that last season is unlikely to be the same style in the upcoming season. Her sophomore year may be the better template.

Also, I would frankly like to see Sienna Betts be under some pressure to get into better shape. Last season she had an injury, but by all accounts was not the hardest worker on the team. Pressure for playing time might be the spark that lights some fire and gets her to be more interested in strength and conditioning.

Also, is it a bad thing to have multiple good players at one position?

It should be an interesting game in Durham next season. I would love to go if possible.

Hopefully it will be on a Sunday to maximize attendance. It's gonna be interesting to see the fan reaction when Maryland #7 is introduced.
If you go, just have to watch out for that one "nutty" Duke fan that we all know........ 😊

I'm the calmest fan around in public. I only throw stuff, jump up and down, and yell when I'm at home. I assume you were referring to me .. if not I apologize.
Bring extra snacks and you'll be fine.

You should pre approve the correct snacks. He has a very particular palate.

As long as it's not green and leafy, I'll try almost anything.

You are one of, if not the most entertaining posters we have on the Boneyard........keep it up!

So, Oklahoma finds a one-year center. Had read that Sa'mayah Smith was also in consideration here at one point.
Wonder if that's ended. Could Smith head back to UVA, as a few other 'Hoo's have? Or is there another school in play?
