2025-26 New school commitments by Transfers

So UConn is deciding to rest on its laurels for the 2026-27 season? They will not add to the same group that wasn’t tough enough to handle a more athletic and more aggressive South Carolina team and who struggled against a limited Notre Dame team in the Elite Eight? This feels like they are capping off their potential to “just make it to the Final Four”, not in position to win it all.

Perhaps he looked in the portal and determined that it contains no Azzis or Paiges like he had the last time he slaughtered us (twice). Perhaps he figured that the team he has is good enough to beat the team we have coming back 6 out of ten times.

Whatever! I just don’t think he sees anything he wants in the portal. I mean Audi is being called the best in the portal and there is no way he takes a player who doesn’t play defense and can be run until she can’t make the bell in the 4th quarter

Perhaps Geno couldn't find the kind of players he was looking for in the portal and/or the players he was interested in didn't want to play a part time role at Conn......or maybe it was about the money.......also UConn is bringing in the number two ranked player in the class and a European guard who would likely be a top ten ranked player if she was playing in the US so they will be a different team next season....
I just hope they are tougher when the going gets tough…

I guess you’ve given up on high school recruits altogether now. I guess this is the popular trend these days.
I don't see any 2027 or 2028 commits yet, no more overseas prospects on the horizon, so where is the talent pool coming from? I do like surprises however and hope Ms. Forbes is one of them.

Oops, Skylar is gone, the cupboard is empty and the kitchen closed. I guess Geno is going to dance with those that brung him.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHAT DOES UCONN'S RECORD LAST SEASON HAVE TO DO WITH TRANSFER COMMITTMENTS!!!!!!
Good question. Evidently, DD22 believes that UConn’s 38-1 season showed a lack of toughness and their inability to pursue any of the available transfers demonstrates that the Huskies have thrown in the towel for next season, despite having 12 returning players including the consensus NPOY……

UConn had one awful game last year, it just happened to be in the final four when they forgot how to shoot.

UConn diehard are like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football - every time there's a new post player, they anoint them as the second coming of Rebecca Lobo, forgetting that post players (particularly to UConn) have a long and difficult transition. The same identical hype that y'all heap upon Vukosa is identical to what you did for Ice Brady and Serah Williams, and look how those turned out. Williams was a 2 time All Big Ten (i think) at Wisconsin putting up routine double-doubles, and she struggled badly. Why do you think Vukosa is going to be better as a freshman?

They have no reliable post player this year unless they go small and make Sarah Strong play the 5, which is out of position for her. If Jana can ever learn to squeeze the basketball and hold on to it, stop fouling everything within reach and shoot more than 50% on 2-foot bunnies, she'd start. But we haven't seen any evidence of that yet.

Gandy-someone needs to occupy that last seat, and she's it. She won't see the court.

They desperately needed a 25 minute a game imposing post player who can rebound and block shots. They didn't get it. They could use a sharpshooting SG that can knock down 40% from long range off the bench. They didn't get it. 2026-27 is going to be a year of small ball and mismatched pieces in hope that something clicks.

How would you know if there are "no more overseas prospects on the horizon"? From what I remember, none of us have known anything about Geno's European signings until UConn announced them after the fact......he could have zero to multiple signings already lined up, for all we know........as far as "27 signings, only five of the top seventy players in the ESPN rankings have picked their schools and only one of the top thirty seven have committed in the '28 class.....

23-0 against the Big East in 2025-2026 was not exactly daunting…
If you are trolling UConn fans, do so on the main UConn board - not this General Board. Plenty of UConn discussion over there. Furthermore this a thread for news and discussion about commitments - not for griping about no commitments.

Quit wasting everyone else’s time with your complaints about Geno IN THIS THREAD

Sorry but I totally disagree with your comments..........Vukosa will likely average 12 points and seven rebounds a game for UConn next season.........when teamed with Sarah and Blanca, they will be one of the most formidable frontcourts in the college game....

I disagree with most of your observations/conclusions, but will just add one observation of my own: both Ice and Jana started off their careers at UCONN with profound injuries that certainly stalled any initial momentum (Serah, it seems, just never really came around).
