2025-26 Injuries (already)

Not sure about grip, but there have been studies noting the design of shoes are primarily for the male physique and don't take the differences of female feet into account as much as they should. Interestingly enough a report was published this week based on a study of female runners in Vancouver BC that discussed this topic. This link provides a high level summary of the findings.

Bball shoes used to focus on preventing ankle injuries. But the current scourge of WCBB is ACL injuries. I wonder if the focus of shoe design needs to be adjusted away from ankles and higher up towards tendons and knees. Overprotecting ankles may redirect stresses.

Great point. Personally I think the design of shoes need to be looked at from a variety of aspects, especially when the movements for various sports vary.

The physiological differences between men and women vary. It's unfortunate that shoes haven't progressed as far as we'd thought.

There is a company called Moolah Kicks who are trying to innovate in this area per this article. Believe Jacy Sheldon wears them.
