2025-2026 CT Ice Tournament @Ingalls Rink, New Haven CT (Fri. 1/23/26 @7:30pm v. Yale Bulldogs & Sat. 1/24/26 v. Quinnipiac Bobcats @7:30) Game on SNY

Game reminded me a lot of the Penn State tourney game. We kind of held on early and then totally flipped the ice for back half of game and forecheck took hold. Crowd was pretty evenly split. Sat right behind QU bench and Pecknold complains all game long.
Entitled.

NPI moved us up to 15 from 18 after QU win. QU dropped from 6 to 8. Hardly seems fair... We still have a lot of work to do given how the incomprehensible NPI rules work. Of course, we can also just win the HE tournament.

Anyone know of a replay available to watch? Evidently I didn't record it and have no desire to subscribe to FloSports for replay.

Last night was gut check time and the Huskies responded. First ten minutes of P1 we were holding on by our fingernails. Heaslips shortie stole Q’s thunder. We get caught napping and it’s 2-1. 3rd P was time to man up and they did it just like last year. It was the most physical game of the year- Tattle will need a week in the ice bath. Moose was tremendous in goal and every guy on the ice chipped in with 100% effort. Total team effort. Cav and his assistants deserve a lot of credit for steering these guys to 2 straight Ct Ice trophies.
Bobcats shouldn’t mess with Huskies on a night as cold as Saturday in the Yukon!

Crossbar - were you there? How was the uconn crowd- looked good on the side we scored all the goals
Was there both nights. UConn well represented about equal to QU which surprised me. According to box score attendance was 2500 which was about right.

Cavs is spot on. If this tournament is to continue it needs to be played up in Hartford where the attendance was by far the highest for a final.

Unlike Yale QU has some skilled puck handlers that gave UConn trouble at times, but the Huskies were pluckier, skated well and blocked a ton of shots. It was interesting to see the two game-plans at work against each other. This game has juice all the way until the end! Some of the best Uconn games I have ever seen whatever the outcome have been vs QU.

I was thinking about seeing if any of my buddy's would want to go. I don't drive but I was told it's a cold rink there. Honestly after seeing the crowd people weren't that bundled up!

Seems heavily skewed to the western teams. We really are going to have to go on a streak.

Keep in mind these are probably considered neutral site games so you dont get the credit you would of it was a true road game - at least I think

Yhea the coaching staff deserves a lot of credit they drew up the right plays. Uconn found cracks in quinnipiacs defense. All I know is quinnipiac is loosing their minds right now!

Two wins vs the ECAC should have enhanced HE’s footing a little more than that. Seems like NPI is wonderful if your school has the name Michigan somewhere in it 🫤.

We brought plenty of warm clothing because we walked from a hotel downtown, but didn’t really need them in the arena. Didn’t seem much colder than Toscano.

Oh, and we didn’t drive either. Took the train down and returned via CTRail / Hartfordline this morning. Good to have options but a midnight train from NH would be ideal for events.

Anyone know if there’s a video link to the post CT Ice championship press conference anywhere?

With 16 spots, less the auto qualifiers, at large bids are a tough route to go. It is clear you are penalized more for losing to #50 (Vermont) than rewarded for beating #6 (Quinnipiac). Needless to say, you're right - we need a hell of a streak or a HE tournament win to get in.
